I don`t have much respect for either guy because of the way they disgraced the sport & themselves by denying the world the fight when it meant everything but throughout their careers, looking at the opponents they have fought & the way they conduct themselves in interviews etc... I have more respect for pacquiao, both are a waste of space though.
I agree, which is why I hate the **** more for denying us the fight when both were at their best, he could likely have beat any version of pac but choose to wait to either fight him when its too late/not fight him at all. He`s a first class piece of ****.
This is a troll thread, but I'll entertain and inform. Floyd is without the question a more respected fighter. His highlight wins (which have always been one-sided performances/dominations) are versus opposition in their prime/on their terms. That is, DLH at 154 (DLH picks smaller ring and Floyd's gloves), Cotto at 154 (coming off a BIG WIN, not a monstrous loss and a gift split decision), Mosley when nobody wanted to fight him/coming off an enormous win (Pac wanted no part of Mosley fresh off of Margs), Hatton when he was undefeated, Corrales when he was undefeated, etc. In contrast, Pac's greatest wins (above 130) are versus highly faded fighters with unfavorable catch-weights. Also, most of the time Pac only fights an opponent when they have looked like **** in their most recent outings. This content is protected Seeing the pattern? Oh, and Manny also dodges drug tests. No asterisk/suspicion around Floyd's accomplishments, but plenty surrounding the Filipino (high-school educated) congressman. Floyd is without a doubt the more accomplished and more respected fighter. Don't take my word for it - ask professional boxers. Andre Ward, Sergio Martinez, Miguel Cotto, Juan Manuel Marquez, DLH, etc. They all, UNANIMOUSLY, declare Floyd #1 PFP. Sup Pac-trolls?
The reasons I believe Manny is more respected is because as many have alluded to, his background and his character. Coming from a life of poverty in his country, living on his own at an early age to avoid being a burden and working in construction to send money back to his parents, fighting to become a professional fighter in one of the most cynical and exploited sports industries. He overcomes 2 early losses and becomes one of the greatest fighters in the world, beating titans of the sport at a weight class several times higher than his original weight class. Despite all this, he feels no need to flash $$ bills or engage in crass behavior in public. Where some of us would be raining bills in brothels and showing off our wealth, he never needs to shove it in our faces. Manny, a class gentleman warrior.
as usual, we have the usual *****s and their ALTs who are voting for floyd when it seems the answer is obviously pac. half of these guys i don't even know are posting in ESB. Babyface_Johnny, bg0, bjl12, boxingfan1991, BretN, Don Flamenco, FutureChampGG, Hook!, mackem, mancat, MichiganWarrior, MoJoGoodie, MollyWhop, MVC, NoNeck, obewild, pound4pound#1, PrinceN, reed_man02, ripcity, rodney, rtm32, sbbigmike, StreetDough, TeflonDom, theboy_racer, toxedo911
Why do we make this kind of threads? Only *****s would vote for Gayweather. No matter what worthy criteria to compare them, Pac always wins. Of course, if we change the battleground to say who looks Gay, or a duck, then Gayweather would win hands down.
Beg to differ puga, the answer is obviously mot PAC. TS wasn't that specific with the question and how it's worded. If you were a fighter who would you respect more as an opponent? Floyd - harder man to beat. While on the other hand, manny looks/is beatable. If you were a fighter who would you respect more in terms of technical skill? We all know the answer to that. As a fighter who would you respect more to train alongside with/ show you pointers/spar?? Floyd obviously, manny not so much. If you were a fighter who would you respect more as a banger? Manny - he hits and gets hit, no doubt - but why? By choice/ his style or because he truly can't adjust like a master boxer? Ie Marquez, Floyd type fighter. Floyd's just too polished for that due to excellent defensive skills. Now his personal story to get where's he at, what he does now and the like. Manny - even though following in and surpassing your father's footprint in life, is not always easy in itself( Micheal Jordan and his son, compared to the manning clan) manny gets and deserves the respect. Some of you guys, can't seem to be able to seperate the two, the boxer in the ring, and the man outside it.
well if you are a fighter who is supposed to be an their opponent, you would think that you would have a better chance beating pac than floyd but this is also a hurt game and fighting pac would mean being hurt and/or punished more than fighting floyd. let's take a look at marquez. although he gave pac 3 hard fights, he didn't move forward as much in any of those fights as the one fight he had with floyd. it means, he is worried and respected more pac's ability to hurt him. on equal footing, fighters who didn't respect pac and floyd inside the ring was punished more by pac like in the case of hatton and cotto.
I voted Floyd because I have more respect for him inside the ring, simply because he's a flat out better boxer than Pacquiao. Both are complete ****ing pieces of **** outside the ring, though. Pacquiao just tries harder to cover up that fact, but most non-nuthuggers can see right through his lame facade.
1. The harder hitter between PAC and may, I'll give you that for arguments sake. 2. May punishes his opponents differently. Fast hands with decent power keeps them honest, while he breaks their will, effectively demoralizing them. Usually by the mid to late rounds his opponents have little to no hope of winning. 3. Marquez is not a good example for you to use due to the fact Floyd made Marquez take lead, and counterpunched the counterpuncher so basically beating the man at his own game. That is Extremely Demoralizing I might add. 4. Fighters who didn't respect them, equal footing, you must be joking puga, both hatton and cotto knew they had no chance against mayweather.
