If you were Wach's trainer...when would you have stopped it?

Personally, I would probably pull a McGirt after round 8. Wach is very tough but at a certain point there is no reason to take that kind of damage.

    What do you think, ESB?

The 8th round, before the end. No way I'd have let him walk out for a ninth. Wach's people took years off his career tonight letting him sustain that kind of beating.

I agree. If he isn't in hospital for a spell like Briggs was I'll be surprised.

He was fine, never even wobbled, no need to.

He looked like he was mentally folding and gassing in the 8th.

He ended up catching his second wind beyond the 8th and continued to "try" to do something.

The only reason I say after the 8th is because of the dead-eye glazed look Wach had in the corner. He looked totally done.

Big respect for continuing to try.

    See Golota-Bowe 1 and 2.
Getting hit that much isn't good.

Though I wouldn't need to mention that.

I'd have pulled it on the 8th.

No way to win at that point, his legs were obviously weakening, it was a 10-8 round, and he looked utterly helpless.

It's just dangerous to even risk four more like that. Just because Wlad eased off till the 11th and 12th doesn't mean they weren't wrong for not pulling him out.

Save your damn fighter. A couple beatings like that, you can't even speak your native language at 50.

It's hard to say because I would know him better and have a better understanding of him if I was his trainer. However, from my viewpoint... I saw no reason not to stop that fight in the 8th round. Wlad was just punishing Wach, and there was no need for him to keep taking those concussive blows to the head over and over. He wasn't going to win and his chin and heart were working against his health at that point.

Yeah, probably. He was taking a real beating in the 8th and there didn't seem to be much chance for him to win.

I texted my friend after the 10-8 round: irresponsible. I will be surprised if Wach won't be ending up in a coma after so many one sided rounds.
