Strange pattern to that fight but I like Clev's adjustment after round 4-5, after trying to ruffle Hawk's feathers early on he stepped back a pace & gave himself more room to work.

When he turned up the pressure again he just overwhelmed Hawk, really liked the body shots & the variety in speed & power.

 

Oh don't get mardy, Mand. Jesus - you're being unduly harsh on Cleverley. Yes, a fighter can think on his own, but not everyone is the same. Some guys like to focus on what they're doing in the moment and rely on their corner to keep them aware.

Nathan was controlling the fight all the way through. So what if his corner says to him to keep it at range. Calzaghe had great ring IQ and he needed his dad to tell him to box with Kessler.

Where the fighter's ring IQ comes into it is in how they apply the tactics in the moment. Cleverley did a great job.
