Wladimir "Glass Chin" Klitschko: Longest reign in HW history without being floored.

    Wladimir Klitschko now holds the record for the longest reign in heavyweight boxing history WITHOUT BEING FLOORED. Meaning he held the heavyweight title(s) for the longest time (in years) without being knocked down. Last time he was knocked down was 2005 against Sam Peter. Now is the end of 2012 and from the Chris Byrd fight in 2006 (which was a world title fight) until today, Wlad has held the heavyweight world championship for 6 1/2 years without being knocked down. This is WORLD RECORD.
    And Wlad also set a record as far as consecutive (won) title fights without being knocked down are concerned: 14 times. (no other heavyweight champion in boxing history has ever won 14 straight title fights without being knocked down.)
    No other heavyweight world champion has EVER accomplished this.
    If anybody can prove me wrong, let me know. It is not gonna happen.

    That is acually quite a feat for someone like Wlad. If you would of asked anyone back then if that would be possible all would be laughing.

    Seems kinda weird that he was only the Ring champion for 2 fights before he got KTFO'd by Douglas. Of course, counting the first alphebet title he won, he did go 10 straight fights without being knocked down, and thats nothing to sneeze at. That being said, you're post basically makes no sense at all. :patsch Better luck next time.

    I think Wladdy is a great fighter, but at least some of this is because his opponents have mostly been garbage.

    this is completely true, and i like wlad. i think hes very good. but cmon, thompson, mormeck, wach, etc were never real threats.

    Yet in his career he still has been knocked out by such greats like Sanders, Brewster and Puritty!!!

    LOL Wlad has no chin, his safety first style has maintained him, that and the fact that the division has never been worse!!

    Joe Louis and Larry Holmes were fighting bums almost their whole careers, and THEY couldnt win 14 straight title fights without being knocked down. Wlad did it. So how can you look into the mirror without not laughing about yourself? I mean I never said Wlad has the best chin, I just said he has that record which is the truth. Sanders is a hard hitter and so his Brewster. And basically Puritty and Brewster didnt really knock him out cause of punches to his chin. they knocked him out cause he ran out of gas. if you wanna dispute that, you prove even more that you are a klitschko hater.
