I can't remember what round it was but around the 9th Marquez landed a crushing left hook to the body, it looked like Pac had broken a rib, he was defending the right side of he's body for the rest of the fight, one more solid body punch and it would have been over. Did anybody else see how badly he was hurt by this?? also that the most hurt ive see Pac when Marquez landed that 1-2 at the beggining of the fight, just an unbeleivable bout, props to both guys. The whole thing was on a knife edge, there should definatley be a 3rd :happy
Yes it was the 8th... he was hit in the liver area. I really thought he was about to neal down! its amazing how quick he recovered from that one. he just thumb his gloves and came back...
Yeah I saw that... but didn't think he would be stopped. Was a very tense moment though. Flashes of Morales getting stopped were coming to me... Nothing worse than seeing one of your favourites in trouble. But Pac fought through it, he's got a huge heart.
me too i thought jmm was gonna end it that round, credit to pac for surviving. if you guys know how bodyshots feel like you'd appreciate seeing a man recover from it.
Hey Jbuz, I heard his radio interview via cellphone right after the fight. He did admit that he felt he was in trouble that time, and it didnt help that his bleeding eyebrow was bothering his eyesight. When he was getting hammered to the body, he was thinking "C'mon, let's go, keep hitting me! I dont care. You need to knock me out to beat me, Im sure as hell wont lose by throwing in the towel and giving up." and when JMM became more aggressive that round and tried to finish MP off, he was thinking "You just come closer now. I may not see you so well right now, but if you come in range, Im gonna just keep throwing punches at you." That's what he said in the live radio interview.
Yeah I'm not suprised he was thinking that. I actually thought that when Marquez opened up during that time that it was really playing in to Manny's hands. The worst thing Marquez could've done was drop his gameplan and try to finish Pac off. Luckily for HIM, he didn't really try to brawl at all. Both handled the situation just as they had to IMO.
..thought Pac's going down too, it was almost like what put Jhonny Gonzales down.. But what is the most lingering image to my mind in this recent classic is the KD of JMM on the third rd. It was one of the baddest-ass fall of a KD in a long time. Yeah!
JMM told me before pac knocked him down he said "come on hit me with the straght left, i want to test my chin, bring it" what a true warrior.
