Knee surgery. The old man needs to test the waters with an easy opponent before taking on superior challenges

He hasn't picked an easy opponent.

Murray's not a bad fight for Martinez. He probably does this fight in April and Chavez in September, so his schedule for 2013 will be Murray and Chavez 2. The problem with that is guys like Golovkin, Pirog, Geale, and Quillen won't be getting shots.

Depends on what you define as an easy opponent. Martin Murray is certainly not a top middleweight.

True, but he's an undefeated middleweight. Sergio is serious about fighting in Argentina and a European boxer would ***** the least about doing so. Plus he's coming off the long layoff/injury.

Hush your little Pinoy dick. He's fighting an undefeated fighter. Pac fights undefeated fighters once every 15 fights (and technically loses to them). I'm surprised Pac isn't fighting Mosley or Clottey again in December.

An undefeated fighter with a 24-0-1 (draw-robbed with Sturm) ranked #8 by TheRing is not my definition of easy. :think

Sergio should beat Murray easily. It will be an easier affair than Barker and Macklin.

Sturm was never that good to begin with.

I think Murray was chosen because of the ease the fight can be made in Argentina. No way Sergio can get Chavez/Cotto/Canelo/Floyd for a fight in Argentina. Zero possibility.

An undefeated, ranked Euro fighter won't be as against fighting in Argentina, especially since it's a fight that could put him on the map.
