Would anybody say Artie Levine? i don't know much about him i just know he knocked down Ray Robinson and it was controversial somehow long count or something not sure, somebody told me Robinson and Graziano both said it felt like they were being shot when he hit them? Is there truth to any of this? Oh Robinson got a 21 count....... This content is protected
Perhaps Young Otto Many old-timers thought he was a top puncher. Record? Mixed with 59 ko's in 157 fights. That doesn't seem that good, but he fought a lot of short fights and only logged 325 rounds in those 157 fights. He scored 36 first round ko's which I have seen claimed to be the record, but I really don't know.
Otto's first-round stoppages vary (depending on who you ask) -- from 27 to 34 to 36. Herb Goldman credits Lamar Clark with the most first-round T(KO)'s, with 30. Otto, 27.
Jeff Shelburg 6' 1" 205 lb. Heavyweight from Salt Lake City. Late-1970's Heavyweight who had incredible one-punch power.
You wouldnt happen to recognise the handsome young chap in my avatar would you?? :hey Elley Bennett“s power was also legendary though he was quite one dimensional compaired to the likes of Patrick.
Jorge Luis Maysonet http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1607&cat=boxer Won every single fight by KO.
Yep. I was reading a post of yours on another thread before this one and your avatar gave me the idea to use old Vic seeing as he was an Aussie and hit like a sledghammer as well.:good Trevor King who fought and sparred with everyone from Bantams to Heavies said Elley Bennett punched harder than anybody he stepped into the ring with bar no one.
I read an aritcle on Bennett a while back and King said something along the lines of "Elley gave so much happiness to people, but he died like a bum and no-one seemed to care"....it was a very sad quote. Another poster who use to post in the aussie section said he met Elly, he said he had a very gentle kind demeanor. King himself has led quite an extraordinary life, he was certainly a fighter in more ways than one. Here is a couple of great articles on him. http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/page/4977737 http://northside.whereilive.com.au/news/story/tony-kings-greatest-fight/
