Boxing Insider got banned (A year long ban) ...!!! But, yeah this fight was in the process of being made, but Mick Hennessey wanted Boytsov...with the understanding that KINGPIN was guaranteed to be next for Fury. Boytsov backed out, and instead of getting a no-name replacement, TEAM KINGPIN offered to take the fight on 2 week notice...Hennessey and Team Fury agreed, contract was re-worked from March 2013 to December 2012, KINGPIN has been in New Jersey & Philadelphia sparring with Bryant Jennings, Maurice Byram, Maurice Harris, Faruq Saleem among others...and sparring in Georgia with Travis Walker, Deontay Wilder, Michael Grant, Josue Blocus and KINGPIN has been concentrating on more offensive arsenals to employ in his upcoming fights.
Not a good choice for Fury. He should have fought Wilder insted. I think the kingpin is going to win this fight.
This is a good fight and I can see furry losing it. Johnson has good defensive skills that could trouble the big man. Plus Furry is defensively irrisponsible at times so it will provide Johnson opportunities to counter punch. All said its a recipe for an ugly fight and you need a few ugly fights to prepare you for world level.
i suppose this will have to do. johnson is decent-ish, but i see a clear win on points for fury with a high possibility of a late stoppage.
props to kingpin for actually fighting a live body (outside of undeserved title shots). hopefully, fury's good enough to shut up johnson for good
