Anyone else genuinly scared for Hatton?

What is it with all these noobs?

 

Had a dream the other night he was stopped in the 5th round,even if he wins this fight i see it ending bad again,Khan or Brook would destroy him..

 

Why? Do tell. Paulie will beat Hatton if they fight next year, that's my opinion. Why's it make me clueless?

 

I don't see any issue for anyone feeling Hatton could beat Paulie or for Paulie to beat Hatton at this point. Lot of water has passed under the bridge since the last time they fought.

The Senchenko fight will tell us a great deal about where Hatton's at. His style of fighting isn't one of longevity and with the abuse to the body he could pay the price even more so now.

I'm not going to say you are clueless, but I disagree with that analysis.

Hatton would have to be horrible, and I mean really horrible to lose to Paulie.

It's just a god-awful style matchup for Paulie.

Edit: Yep that's it Earl and that could well be the fact of the matter who knows how Ricky will return?. If Ricky's at a good level you favor Hatton but if he's lost 2-3 steps he could well get beaten.

 

No problem with you disagreeing, everyone's entitled to their own opinion... To dismiss other people's opinion as clueless without even an explanation as to why someone is clueless is ridiculous though.

We really don't know where Hatton is at right now. I'll be amazed if he's anything like the Hatton he was in 2008 when he gave Paulie a serious beatdown though.

It just really annoys me all this man of the people rubbish he spouted his whole career.

He's coming back to make more money and vanquish the demons he got from getting laid out by pac man.

I honestly hope it doesn't go well for him. The less I see of him on TV the better :happy

 

I'm interested in seeing the size difference between the 2 when they finally face off as Senchenko seems to be by far the bigger man judging by these pictures.

I know there's some bad ones around, this guy is up there with the worst from what I've seen.

Because Paulie has absolutely nothing which can trouble Hatton. He has zero power so has nothing to keep Hatton off him, his speed is negated by the fact Ricky is the actual better boxer of the two and he's already been battered around the ring for 11 rounds by the same person you think will now "easily" beat him.

If you want to dispute any of my points, actually rewatch the Hatton-Malignaggi fight. He was picked apart by Hatton's skills as opposed to his pressure and just couldn't land anything of note. I'd like to know how Paulie has improved so much to fare that much better this time round? Unless you're just basing your opinion on Hatton being away and fading terribly, which you can have no real knowledge of. Every version of Hatton, even a Hatton 50% of what he was in the first fight, beats Malignaggi. His chin is the main worry, not his skill and Paulie could never take advantage of in a million years

 

Your talking about a fight that happened four years ago. Do you think Hatton is the same fighter now, i mean seriously? I know none of us know where Hatton is at now (as I I said earlier in the thread) but how can he of done anything but declined? He's older, put his body through a lot of **** and i worry about his punch resistance. To try and hold on to some hope that Hatton has not faded is desperate to say the least

Paulie may not of improved a lot as a fighter over the last four years, but he has put in much better performances than he did the night against Hatton. He looked good against Diaz both times and against Senchenko...none of them are on Hattons level but I'm just saying they were clearly much improved performances

If they fight next year, I'm picking Paulie to win. A lot of people will agree with me. Does not make me clueless- your disregard for other people's opinion is pathetic.

 

it won't matter, Senchenko won't be able to keep Ricky outside if Ricky is anywhere near decent.

The main thing to me, which speaks volumes is that it takes a LOT of effort to drop the amount of weight Hatton has in a relative short space of time, he's obviously still got that drive in the gym, and it's hard ****ing work, I think the engine is still there, I mean look at morales, his comeback he had love handles and pudge, Ricky is lean and cut.

The engine might need a tune, and this is what this fight is for.

As long as he gets through this, I think the next fight is where we will really see what he's got left. As he's going to keep in the gym inbetween fights, and I think his body will recover more, just by being fit and healthy for an extended period.

 

I think to say that any version of Hatton beats Paulie is slightly naive to be honest. People would probably have said that a 30% Tyson would beat Danny Williams and look what happened!

Paulie doesn't trouble Hatton in terms of power but he's changed his style to a more crouching, awkward fighter and Hatton must have lost plenty in terms of speed and punch resistance. Paulie may be able to out point him, look at what Lazcano did to Hatton, a lightweight with a KO ratio of just over 50% and that was pre Paulie/Pac.

Plus Hatton is fighting a big welter in Senchenko, his brawling pressure style isn't going to be effective against a bigger stronger man and if he does somehow over come him it will take even more out of Hatton's tank. I don't see this mentally and physically damaged Ricky Hatton as much of a threat to anyone at world level and he should have come back with an easier fight to test the water imho.
