Max Kellerman: Marquez wins 1st bout by 3, 2nd bout by 1, 3rd bout is a draw

I think he had it in reverse, most people would have the 1st one as the closest one. It all brings down to scoring being subjective, despite differences in scoring of the rounds, it is generally accepted that marquez won and gave the impression of being the better fighter.

 

First one is debatable, nr 2 and 3 is Marquez

Not watched the vid and I'm not sure what he's implying, but if he's of the notion that the fights between them are getting closer, then I kinda' disagree. I feel the opposite, in fact. For me, Pac narrowly won the first, narrowly lost the second, and lost the third. It seems like the more they fight each other, the more JMM learns from him and the clearer he wins.

 

Just watched it, and whilst I do disagree with his scoring, he does make some excellent points. One in particular, which I've been saying all along, is his 'the threat has become more powerful than the execution' observation. An excellent way of describing Manny being so fearful of JMM countering him, that he's neglected his own attack to nullify JMM's counters.

I don't have an exact scorecard for any of the fights but I thought Pac the first and clearly at that, I thought 2nd bout was a toss up but a very,very slight edge to Pacquiao, and the 3rd bout I thought Marquez won.

 

First one Marquez won

Second one was very close but again Marquez won

Third one clear victory for Marquez

 

I think Kellerman has his scoring wrong personally but its a very subjective issue

I am not a judge, therefore i score rounds exactly how i see them, who is being more aggresive, who is landing the cleaner work, or a mix an match of the 2

Thats how i score fights, i normally lean towards the aggressor in close rounds if theres not much seperating them but not in this case, i felt Marquez was just the superior boxer to Pacquiao over the course of the 3 fights.

My scores for the trilogy were as followed :

Pac - JMM 1 - Pacquiao 114 - 112
Pac - JMM 2 - Marquez 114 -113
Pac - JMM 3 - Marquez 116 -112

 

Pac - JMM 1 - Pac clearly
Pac - JMM 2 - Pac very close
Pac - JMM 3 - A draw in my opinion

I scored the 3rd fight a draw, but there were two rounds that one could have given to JMM, but I fail to see how anyone could score the 3rd fight to Pac, as there was no way that he won 7 rounds.

Had jmm all 3 but the last fight I had Jmm winning easy
