GPS is obviously one of the best. But Silva would wreck him. I hope GPS understands this and after his vacation comes back and stays away from Silva

Yes he would. GSP is just too small for Silva. His only chance in that fight is to take it to the ground but he'd have a hell of a time trying to do that since Silva is bigger / stronger, and very good at avoiding the takedown.

I think that fight would look like the Demian Maia fight.

Why do you think Silva would wreck him? Is it because of tonight's performance?

Guess what, no one has ever looked good coming off 19 months of inactivity and a very serious knee surgery. You remind me of the large group of guys that picked Liddell to beat Shogun because Shogun looked bad against Coleman after his 15th knee surgery. Look what happened to Liddell.

GSP is a better overall fighter than Sonnen. Better athlete and Wrestler. Sonnen took him down with relative ease. How exactly is Anderson going to wreck him?

GSP has a better chance against Silva that Silva does against Jones. Both Jones and GSP are better wrestlers than Silva but obviously Jones has the size to really **** AS up on the ground.

GPS at any weight is simply not talented enough to win against Silva

GSP has the talent/skill but doesn't have the size. Silva's reach would be insane compared to St. Pierre's, and coupled with Silva's outstanding striking, it wouldn't end well for St. Pierre.

That's a significant size difference. Anderson is simply a much bigger man. Not just taller, but bigger and longer. Look at the difference in where their shoulders are.

If he wants the takedown, GSP has a huge distance to cross where he's in range of the strikes. And if Anderson gets him into the clinch, GSP's face would take an even worse battering from Anderson's knees than Franklin's did.

Not that I entirely disagree, but I wouldn't trust any UFC promo shot.

Spider too big and too good. But if it happens I hope it's a great fight.

It would be the same for Anderson is he were to move up to light heavy to face John Jones. One of the reasons I think people call for these fights is probably because they want to see GSP or Anderson lose.

I keep hearing about Jones... Only seen him fight once or twice.

Anybody have a link that shows technically why so many people think he'd beat Silva?

Although actually, the size difference between Anderson and Jones doesn't look nearly so dramatic.

There's only 2 inches in height between them, versus 4 for GSP-Silva. And GSP is just a much smaller body type than Anderson. Once you start getting up there in size, the difference doesn't matter so much. Anderson and Jones are both bigger-type fighters, whereas GSP is a smaller type fighter. The average man on the street probably has a bigger frame than GSP, but is clearly smaller than Anderson.

Of course, Jones would monster Anderson in the torso because of his skinny chicken legs. And Jones is also getting bigger - he looks like he's filled out a fair bit since he burst onto the scene.

Hell, in a suit Silva even looks like he physically compares to Cain. Though at least 40% of Cain's bodyweight is in his enormous pumpkin head.

    Too much emphasize on size.

This is a boxing forum, with a little MMA included.

As boxing fans we all seen guys like Pacquiao and Mayweather wreck the **** out of bigger and smaller guys because of skill.

    MMA aint no different.

GPS simply does not have the skill set to compete with Anderson regardless of their weight or size. People can say all they want about Silva's long limbs etc, but there was a time when 5'8 Rickson Gracie tapped out Rei Zulu.
