Why did Daniel Ponce De Leon give Broner so much 'problem'?

What was it that PDL did that troubled Broner? Was it his southpaw stance and awkward style, was Broner too green, or did Broner just underestimate PDL? Or all the above?
And do you think a guy like PDL could always trouble Broner?

I always felt that Broner was too green, and has been schooled about Ponce's tendency to lead with his head, so fought a very "safe" fight.

His forearms(read: elbows) will be ready for that shyt now.

He was a 21 year old taking a massive step up in class against a really experienced veteran. It was a too much too soon. Same thing happened with Tyson Fury against McDermott the first time.

    Fast feet

Got up close did his work then got out..

Broner didn't expect the little guy to kick his ass so badly.

Repeatedly cheated by intentionally stepping on Broner's foot throughout the fight. Just like Marquez against Pacquiao, it had nothing to do with skill or style and everything to do with breaking the rules. Cheating Mexicans :-(

Everybody wants to make excuses but don't give the 126ln ponce credit moving up in weight & man handle the 150+ broner(same guy Gamboa went on to skool).Sorry no excuses just like demarco fight quintero/Ponce had broners number.Part of broner looking real good in that fight was demarco not backing down he's a warrior & going to fight toe2toe broner knew that & exploited it.He's not doing that at 140-154 nope :bart.Fight burns, gamboa then move up to were the real competition at.

deleon may look ungainly but he knows what he is doing. the way he throws wild punches then...randomly throws perfectly well torqued technically precise straight counters is off putting. southpaw, aggressive and well seasoned...good amatuer people forget.

    deleon isnt a mug

bazooka limon, zaragoza are from the same school. they seem wild....and they are but there is logic to the madness.

honestly though. when i first saw broner against quintero he looked ****ing awful. like diabolically bad. spread feet, bending at the ankles, low hands...which can be fine if you know what your doing but his shoulders where square on, open mouth, and when he threw his punches he basically extended them in front and just shook his shoulders. NO power. his speed was really just him just moving a lot.

but to see him now. in the pocket, throwing flush counters and then adding combinations. the jab is fantastic and his power is now considered a part of the broner package...he has adapted and improved so much.

Simple Broner was young and inexperienced if Broner could still make 130 and they fought today he would school the **** outta PDL. Broner has gotten much better since then he's only 22.

If he fought PDL again if he could make the weight he would beat the **** outta PDL and you wouldn't put a dime on PDL. A blind man can see that Broner has improved since then, you just don't like him. Broner is here to stay so get used to it hater.

No shame as PDL was making Gamboa look bad and even outboxed Gamboa early in the fight thanks to PDL's short time learning from Beristein PDL became a tactical, more awkward fighter and his timing even better. What I wanna know is when PDL is getting his rematch against Juanma Lopez! PDL reinvented himself he is being overlooked he might be champion soon again.

Because Ponce applied "Smart pressure", something Broner wasn't used to. He would come in and out with fluid combinations as Broner would go in his shell. And he wasn't too open, meaning that he didn't give Broner any confidence in going after him either.
