I've seen a lot of, let me use a euphemism here, uninformed people claiming Salido to be a cheat because he tested positive for Nandrolone after beating Guerrero. Well, Nandrolone occurs naturally in the body, even so Salido tested NEGATIVE in the follow-up test on the following day.
If you're excusing Salido on the basis of a later clean test, then you have to do the same for Morales.
Got caught. Served his suspension. Moved on. Not much else to be said. At least he's still boxing and doing quite well.
Athletes in general, IMO. :good (But if the TEST can't catch 'Em, So be it) ^Just the way it is, It's all about knowing how to cycle on/off.
If it truly was later as in "the next day," then that very likely absolves him in some unofficial way. As the NC was upheld, though, clearly that was not adequate.
I thought his B sample tested clean? Thats what I dont get. Why would he have gotten punished if his B sample was clean. Obviously Im mis-informed?
I think this was before the days of the A-B sample stuff. The retesting was not sponsored by the commission or anything. Orlando had the retesting done on his own. The commission did not accept this "retest".(IIRC) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orlando_Salido (link)
Mexican fighters all test positive because of the "tainted" meat.... Their Fajita meat is marinated in steroids. ;-) It's all just an honest mistake.
