I've never caved in at the last minute for any PPV. £15 to see Hatton in his prime against the world's best is one thing, but this is really **** for £15, and being on Primetime is just the final nail in the coffin for me.

I wouldn't even get excited about this if it was free on Channel 5, although the picture quality would at least be ok.

Is anybody bothered about the undercard? I think it's decent. Surely better than the undercards served up on a Hatton bill before.

    The undercard is top notch.

    Quigg/Munroe
    Buckland/Foster
    Rabchenko/Vitu

All good fights and Murray, Etches, Dickens, Theophane all on the bill too.

It's obviously because of charging £15 for it to be on Primetime. If this was on terrestrial the public would be all over it.

    For his fans eh?

I wouldn't say so to be honest. Fury barely gets any publicity even though he has terrestial because of how ridiculous he and his promoter's delusions are. Barely gets a mention in the back pages of the papers like other fighters do in the build up to a fight. Every time he fights on Channel 5 it's like watching a ****ing pantomime.

The pundits always talking about how much he's improved when he's blatantly **** and Mick Hennessy banging about Fury being the future king of the heavyweight division, it's like that simple kid at school who tells people about how he and his dad are secret agents who saved the world at the weekend, people just quietly ignore him.

Even when people do occasionally pay attention to Fury, it's only because of how much of twat he makes of himself.

Fights on primetime always go under the radar. They don't push the shows enough and if you do try buying the fight its a farce. I ended up ringing 4 or 5 different advisors for one of their fights. They had booked me some wrestling show instead of the boxing and nobody seemed to know what to do.
The audience will be low for this fight for sure, wrong time of year in what are hard times anyway for a lot of people to be putting out a fight that isn't ppv worthy on ppv.

Are you sure it wasn't just another Ricky Hatton fight?

I'd hardly blame Haye or Audley tbh. Sky passed the blame to Audley for doing what he always does; bottling it, but they were the ones who pushed for that fight to happen. They knew it would be a mismatch but they knew it'd sell.

  12. looking at it , is this the best domestic bill of the year ?

    Clearly not then!!

When people say it's going under the radar? Do you mean on Sky Sports News?
The newspapers don't care which tv channel it's on when deciding whether to give it the full back page treatment.
It's fair enough for Sky not to promote it like one of their own fights. But that's surely the only difference in the media this fight has received. It would have been hard for the 2 to work together after such a frosty break up earlier this year.

Most casuals I know have briefly spoke about it, but the hype is no were as near a normal Hatton fight.
