Charles would beat the **** out of him.

Jones lost a lot dropping back down. It's just Tarver was never very good and couldn't initially take advantage of his taking rests every round, often against the ropes.

No way Jones has enough to go 15.

Charles would easily outlast him and take care of business late.

I echo the sentiment of Charles beating the **** out of Jones. The Charles of the 1st Marciano fight was the opposite of a part-time cop/postman/bum fighting front-running cherry-picker like Jones Jr.

Prime for prime its a good match, but that 2003 version of Jones was in bad shape and had fallen down a very steep cliff fast. Ezzard has to be favored.

Relax Nightcrawler...Roy's a great guy...he's just being compared to my man Ezzard Charles...and there's no fighter I admire more than the warrior who went 15 with the Rock like he did.:good

Charles of the first Marciano fight was better than Tarver by a good enough margin to pick him.

Jones of the Ruiz fight might fare better.

To be fair, Charles was well and clear on the slide himself by the time he fought Marciano. I don't think he'd have too easy of a time dealing with even this version of Jones. Still, he should be favored, and by knockout.

Charles was past his prime, but he showed up probably in the best shape he had been in since he lost the title...and was hungrier than he had been in years. Charles of june 17th 1954 probably fought his best fight since maybe 1951. I am talking specifically about the Charles of the first marciano fight, he was an amazing fighter that night..fast, skilled, crafty, couragious, unbelievable stamina, great chin.
