The man killed was Machos friend..another former boxer from puerto rico....they stop at a liquore store and a car stop and shoot to both of them.....looks gang related

I think people should wait before labelling Hector a killer. Seems far more reasonable that him and this other guy both got shot by the suspect in custody.

Its fugging tough in PR. Drugs and crime are off the charts! Hell, didnt Cotto got ***** slap by some big time gang banger/drug lord in PR a few years back and he (Cotto) had to hold back and just leave the premises to avoid being killed? Something along those lines so take like a grain of salt.

    Darn!!!

"Former world boxing champion Hector "Macho" Camacho was shot in the face as he sat in a car outside the Puerto Rican capital Tuesday, and doctors said he was in serious condition but expected to survive."

Doctor from PR say that his brain activity is really low and neurologists cant do anything more for him but wait and see if he recuperates on his own. Also even if he survives he might not walk again because the bullet hit two vertebrates before stopping in his shoulder.

Is the same in most major cities around the world, PR is no difference and no worst than any other place.

What a terrible thing to happen. I read an article which was in spanish, so I used a spanish to english translator which said the bullet hit the vertebrae and lodged in the right shoulder, and that it also damaged some of the carotid artery.Let's pray he can recover to how he was before. I will pray for Hector.

I hope it is not true that Hector has low brain activity because low brain activity now means he might have lost too much blood after he was shot. If what you guys said the carotid artery was hit that means he might have lost enough blood where his brain was without oxygen for some time and that would affect the brain activity later. They could put blood back with a transfusion but that will not reverse the damage which could have happened. Lets hope it did not do that damage. This damage to the brain would not have to do with direct bullet damage but of the blood loss in the wound which could happen if a person is shot anywhere in the body and it bleeds too much although the carotid is closer to the brain and supplies the brain with blood.

Another sad day for boxers ....too many ex-boxers getting shot or killed. Just these last few years we lost Gatti, Forest and Corrales.
