I would say at title level there pretty even. But when you look at actual fighters coming through the ranks for the long term Matchroom are dominating, especially when you consider how they are being managed. Yafai, Cardle etc are fighting every month. W*rrens guys its every 3 months. Despite having your own TV channel.
Well I'm not surprised seeing how vocal Mitchell has been since the Burns fight, Maybe we will finally see that motivated Kevin Mitchell now.
Thats no good thoe, if he aint got no money to buy them decent opponents ? what's the point of haveing talant if it's a wast of talent.
When Mitchell has head screwed on probably I believe he's still a really good fighter. Remember how he out-boxed Prescott and then completely took apart the unbeaten John Murray? It's well documented that he was an unfocussed ****-head going into the Katsidis fight and the Burns fight was unlucky for him. Got caught once and Ricky didn't let him off the hook. If any other 135lbs fighter had stopped Mitchell like Burns did then we'd be raving about how amazing is he, just people don't want to give Burns credit. That's a testament to how good a fighter Kevin is himself, nobody expected him to get KO'ed. He needs to get away from FW and get himself some management who'll build him back up and nurture his career. It's done wonders for Bellew.
W*rren got him the opportunites, but did he build him up towards them. Get Mitchell down to Super Feather. Look to get him a domestic title and then push up towards European then fight some ranked guys. Its a 2-3 year job.
It's a good signing as long as Eddie doesn't invest to much into Kevin to soon. Get him active firstly and let him earn the rewards and if he does then great if not then no loss. Mitchell as others have said is a ticket seller, a decent name and always is in solid/good battles.
:good It's not an excuse, but going into a world title fight against an excellent champion, with 2 fights in in 2 years is ridiculous. Should think Eddie might try and do Rees-Mitchell at some point next year.
Yep the tactics he tried to use relied on being razor sharp and he wasn't anywhere near sharp enough to counter. Mostly due to Burns being better but you could see he wasn't quick enough in his reactions so he does need activity and needs focus. He's got no more excuses if or when he joins Matchroom. They seem to be a on there job that lot. Very impressed..
***** wont have many left, if he treats them like he did Kevin on one of the biggest nights of his career... @mindgames..
