True.

Kessler also feels 100% he would beat Calzaghe in a rematch (and after all only 2 rounds separated the two on the scorecards.. two rounds!).

And he said that he wasn't himself when he met Ward.

So yeah... this is common for fighters to believe they can win if they ever met again.

 

The ironic thing about this statement from Froch is that, to me, the Kessler fight even in defeat made me think "this guy is better than I thought he was". He showed a lot more depth than I thought he had. He slipped a lot of punches, he fought comfortably off the back foot, did a pretty good job with his movement, etc.

I DEFINITELY want to see this rematch. Wonder if it could be made a stadium fight?

Froch, can kid himself all he wants. All things being equal the only way he would have a chance to be Kessler is if he was not fit. If that was the case I doubt he would take the fight.

 

For a man like Froch,any loss is a bitter pill to swallow,but i'm not sure why he made excuse's about the Kessler fight ?
Froch could have won that night,but instead of being busy and boxing,he just kept trying to load up and take Kessler out.He'd land a punch and wouldn't follow it up,he just kind of backed off a step and admired the single shot.Kessler kept busy and took the decision.
Against Ward,Froch simply ran out of ideas once he realised he couldn't beat Ward to the punch.
I don't think Frochs delusional at all,i'm sure in his own mind he does believe he can beat Ward and Kessler.
I think in a rematch he wins a clear decision against Kessler and lose's by clear UD to Ward.

Also, it's a known fact that his preperations for the Kessler were interrupted by the volcano/ash cloud. 3 days before the fight it was as good as off.

Ward fight, he was simply beaten by a better fighter.

 

You can tell there a lot of people here who have never stepped into the ring in a proffesional manner. The fastest way to end your career would be to start accepting people are better than you. If Ward ever loses you will see the same or atleast similiar reasons from him. Its just a boxers way of making sure they can motivate themselfs to continue with the sport and keep aiming for the crown. Some are more vocal that others i agree but i can promise nearly every single one thinks it.
