Dempsey will always be the main man when it comes to presenting for me. Legend..

 

Love Paul Dempsey.

Plus whilst he isnt an expert by any means, he does no a bit.

 

He don't take crap either, he slaps it right on this ''pundits'' and is intense. You can see he's proper into the big fight nights as well.

Growing up watching him i always favor him over others. ATG lol:

 

I thought his interview questions were awful. Hatton was clearly distressed and just wanted to go backstage and have a moment to himself, yet Paul kept pushing him and asking him ridiculous questions. Granted, he was probably being pushed by his superiors talking in his ear, but it was awful imo.

Bit of a shame as Malignaggi and Rhodes did a brilliant job in the studio, particularly Paulie.

 

As a presenter I thought he was spot on and clearly the best. As an after fight interviewer, I thought it was awkward, laboured and frankly horrific.

 

Dempsey is class. Seems to have the same kind of passion and intensity as the American presenters. Regarding the Hatton interview, it's always difficult to know what to say in such a situation. As sad as Hatton was, at the end of the day he's had a fine career, made millions, has his friends and family for support, and is a well loved figure, so forgive me for not being as sympathetic as some were. Dempsey was very kind to him in that interview IMO and kept patting him on the shoulder. Not the first fighter who has had to give an interview after being knocked out. He does not need to be wrapped up in cotton wool. He is a fighter who has lost a fight, not a soldier who has lost his limbs. Let's get some perspective here. I do see where some of y'all are coming from, but if Hatton really did not want to speak he did not have to. He could have asked Paul for a bit of time alone, and I'm sure Paul would have respected his wish.

 

Yeah i agree Ero, And TBH Hatton and his people could of said no to interview or walked away but they did it and Dempsey's there to ask questions. Yes he's blunt and to the point but probably Ricky and others prefer that then to have someone bumming them up and pussyfooting around them.

Dempsey for me kept it profressional but also let Ricky know he's a fan of his work. As you say class. I think his only poor part was with Rhodes i think he's known Ryan for years and probably saw it as banter but it came across a little poor IMO.

 

seemed to take him ages to get over his shyness towards paulie....it was like 80% of all his questions were directed to rhodes.
even at one point he said "i'll ask this of ryan as you may not be familiar paulie".....but when paulie did get his chance he showed himself to be very knowledgeable...when you have someone as clued up on the sport and articulate as mallinaggi in front of you, don't ignore him and give someone like rhodes who just keeps repeating cliches over and over most of the space to talk

 

TBF though, I didn't expect Malignaggi to know much about the Brits on the under-card.

 

Dempsey is thee main man, loves the sport, dead honest & genuine, also Jim Rosenthal has been great over the years. These 2 are the best, total pro's with no ego agenda.
