this day week the enigma that is mike the rebel perez will be returning to the ring to take on ruslan chaguev, sources have told me that paerez is looking tremendous in training and last week in the cork eveing echo his manager patrick thomas stated he is in the best shape of his life,it was also quoted that buddy mcgirt is over in watergrasshill training both mike perez and the tremendously talented luis garcia.Patrick Thomas aslos stated that his biggest mistake was bringing over world class sparring for mike perez as the sparring partners were goin back telling everyone how talented and dangerous the rebel is.I was just wonderring what are ye guys views on Perez and Chaguev fight next weekend,i think a fit Perez will stop the ageing and slow Chaguev,i think his high workrate, power and hunger will overpower chaguev.

Certainly a great test for Perez. Chag is a crafty old goat, (heck he's not even that old, it just seems like it) and Perez will have to really be on top of his game.

I have a hard time getting excited about Perez, but if he can control Chag, then maybe he'll be a fighter to watch. If he can KO Chag (unlikely) then I'll really be interested. - But don't bet on it.

You know, this might actually be a great fight.

It's a very dangerous fight for Perez but a huge chance

I was fully expecting Perez to disappear altogether. His win over Fields was excellent and he looked like a legit threat to the HW title.
Then he fell off the map, content to tend bar in some obscure Irish village.:rofl

But what a comeback fight. Taking on a legit top 20 HW in his return after more than 11 months out. ****ing impressive.

Perez is actually all wrong for Chagaev too. Chagaev is crafty and has some pop, but he hasn't exactly been fighting on world level for a while now, and Perez, if he's sharp next w/e, will likely dominate him and used him as a stepping stone to a world title shot. Probably that fake WBA strap, but nonetheless, a huge fight for him.

    Fury vs Johnson
    Chagaev vs Perez

Winners for the vacant WBA minor title.
Should be an exciting summer really:think

who ever told u he was bartending inan obscure village in cork is talking bull**** thats not true at all iv been chatting to him on facebook few weeks back and he said that everyone was avooiding mike, the likes of kevin johnson were brought to watergrashill to spar him and he destroyed johnson, when johnson rreturned to the states he told everyone the skill of perez and he was avoided the same happened after he blew the competition away in p[rizefighter,i know next week is a step up for him but if he prevails like i think he will,he will be ranked very highly and guys will have to step up and fight him

Chagaev is shot, Perez outworks him, I predict wide Perez UD or late stoppage.

Perez will get a shot at the WBA 'regular' title with a convincing win over Chagaev.
