Chavez lacked the longevity at the weight to be a top 5 LW of all-time but it was his best division and Rosario was his peak performance.

Dude, everyone only has ONE prime. Not always, but usually, they don't span across more than the loss that ends the "prime" unless it is not a legit loss or the merit of what they did after is worthy of carrying over their "prime." All fighters have a prime where what they accomplished during a stretch or what they physically showcased during a stretch was better than all other occasions which fall outside of the "prime." Example: Oscar's prime was 94-98.

Vargas coming off a defeat. Didn't do anything after. Not at his prime.

Mayorga never got a relevant win after, and suffered multiple defeats right before. Clearly removed from prime performances.

Gatti's two best winning streaks of his career were before and after his stretch of losses which Oscar's was among.

Whitaker nowhere near prime. Can't believe you'd argue that.

Prime Chavez's win total was closer to 60 than the 96 that Oscar fought him at.

Genaro was fighting at 135 for the first time at "world class level." Never before or after did he accumulate a notable victory there.

Oscar DID end a whole bunch of guys' prime, but none of the big names he is most known and respected for beating. So it is kind of hypocritical of him to say that of any fighter when it is true of almost all fighters.

 

A quick example of how Oscar is judged by a higher standard. Those 2 are throwaway fights for DLH but considered by many as great wins for FLoyd.
