Lewis was in his prime though, britard, and tyson was locked away for nearly half a decade ... And lewis fought an even worst version of him who struggled in his previous fight

hes supposed to be in his prime after 4 years of inactivity?? How ****ing dumb are you? he still did better against common opponents like frank bruno than glass jawed lewis who was nearly out again

Half of lewis resume are tyson left overs from the previous era or drug addicts .. He couldnt even beat ray mercer who had his best days behind him and lost to old larry holmes, who tyson destroyed im 88 ... Lol glass jawed lewis was out jabbed by old ray mercer

It could go either way, Tyson has the power and speed, Lewis has the size the reach adventage. Didnt they have sparing session back then? I remember Lewis said interview they spared 2 rounds and both winning 1.

It could be the same scenario like Tyson v Douglas or it could be like Rachman vs Lewis 1 and Mccall vs Lewis 1.

Post Douglas Tyson still able to took big punches from Ruddock for 23 rounds and he also lasted 8 rounds against Lewis in 2001 and off course he's way too slow in this fight, no legs footwork, no reflex, no combination, only 1 big shot as his only tool. Mike cant even beat journeyman around the time he face Lewis.

 

Holyfield needs 12 round decision against Lou Savarese (with big headbutt as usual) and 40 years old Holmes, and some clown think 80's Tyson is overated ? haha
Even Holyfield and Lewis admitted in various occassion that Tyson was animal back then, he could go 12 rounds and still throwing big punches till final bell.

Lewis was in trouble against Bruno and got knocked out by Mccall who quit from Prime Tyson body shot in sparring.

When Tyson was in prison and came out from prison, Holyfield and Lewis were still looking for glory while Tyson was busy squandering his 300 million bucks.

 

50/50 toss up. It is all about if '95 Lewis has the experience and confident to control Tyson with his jab. If not it would be over quickly (like most 1980's Tyson fights).

Personally I would like to think that Lewis would have the courage and tactical sense not to panic and to keep Tyson away for 8 rounds before KO'ing him late in the fight when he was tired.

He had 4 years of inactivity when he fought McNeeley. After that he was a full time professional boxer again,had a number of fights, regained some world titles and THEN fought Holyfield.

Vitali was gone for 4 years and came back and won a world title in his first fight!

The same Holyfield that Lewis beat...Twice.

Yes Tyson's prime WAS very brief and his peak only lasted a couple of years, but I pick Lewis and Holyfield to beat him at his peak. I'll post a more detailed response later. I may have already posted one in this thread

 

Vitali wasn't locked up in a cell and was living the good life before he came back and fought slow limited Peter who is certainly no Holyfield. Holyfield beating Tyson is nothing to boast about. Evander fought like a complete maggot. They were both as bad as each other.

Mccall has done A LOT of sparring with Tyson, also you've never been hit in the liver otherwise you wouldn't use that as an argument.
And Tyson has never dropped Mccall.

And the Bruno example was a very confident Bruno and Lewis who had trouble with guys who could jab with him, like against Vitali Lewis won when he took it inside.
Tyson is polar opposite of Bruno.

 

Pre-McCall #1 Lewis would lose by devastating KO.

Post-McCall #1 Lewis would lose by wide decision. He'd be cautious as he was in the Holyfield fights, but Mike would rack up more points than Holyfield did.

 

Tyson didnt come out of prison and fight Holyfield.

He fought abouyt 5 other guys first.

He wasnt inactive when he fought Holyfield

 

lewis didnt beat Holyfield twice. It was once. The first fight was a draw and OK maybe Lewis really won that fight but most people think Holyfield won the second fight. HAHAHA! The great Lennox Lewis couldn't even dominate an aging Holyfield!
