Fury would get destroyed but at least he will get paid. Look what happened to Mitchell he got destroyed and for little money.

I never understand why these guys keep saying they are not ready. When you have the opportunity for a Heavyweight Championship fight you take it and try your best. Never have I seen so many Contenders so scared to take a title fight. It is pathetic.

+1. Whatever happened to taking the risk to be champion and learning from your mistakes if you get beat? Nobody's making these guys hang it up if they lose.

I'd rather see Wlad take on Povetkin and Pulev first, but if Fury's willing to take the chance in the latter part of 2013 and a higher ranked heavyweight isn't, the fight makes sense.

Nobody is going to give Fury stick if he loses to Wlad. Actually taking a fight vs. Wlad may be less risky career-wise than against 2nd tier guys like Boytsov or Helenius.

    1) Banks is irrelevant to my point. I was saying that if Fury tries to genuinely earn his title shot by fighting a legit contender he may end up losing before he ever gets the Klychko fight. The more fights he has against quality opposition the more likely it is.

    2) No Fury hasn't. The only argument you could make is Chisora and considering the syle, his lack of power and how terribly out of shape he was, no, Fury has never beat anyone as good as Banks.

    3) Banks is not a top HW anyway and wouldn't fall into the genuine contender catagory i was speaking about. He was just fortunate to be the one to expose a terribly flawed, glass chinned, overhyped american hope and shoot up in the WBC rankings because of it.

Povetkin, fury and pulev. This could be a great year for wlad takin on one of his outstanding contenders and two of the future crop.

I'd quite like to see arreola and adamek in there is possible as well.

I don't think Fury has a chance. All credit if he takes the fight but I think it might actually be one of Wlad's early nights.

    Precisely.
I like this fight. Fury is not anywhere near Wlad's class, but he's big, has guts, is 10 times better than someone like Wach, and can come off the floor to win. He has some decent skills. He'll come to fight, no question. And this is boxing...one never really knows what could happen.

And as you say, so what if he loses? He's still a baby, and if he has a decent showing against Wlad, it will be invaluable experience down the line. Fury doesn't need to fight Wlad...he can sit it out and wait until the K bro's retire, but it's a gutsy (and appreciated) move by Fury if he does end up fighting Wlad.

He should wait couple of years and improve his skill set.

No reason to rush when he is only 24
