http://www.bdlive.co.za/sport/othersport/2012/11/28/boxing-debut-not-just-for-show-flintoff-insists Is this a once-off, or the start of a career?
He insists it's not a stunt and that he's pursuing a career in it for real. But looking at some of his clips.... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZeC3kBCChQ[/ame] ... you have to ask why he's bothering :-(. He'll only be good enough to beat complete hand-picked bums that shouldn't even have a license to fight. And that to me is just pointless. A 16 year old amateur cruiserweight would ruin him.
He should have quite a strong punch and decent co-ordination. Probably will lack decent head movement, footwork, defence
hes getting a gd bit of stick for it..he dosnt look to hot in any of the videos ive seen him in but im sure we will tell on fight night..nothing wrong with giving it a go tho
C'mon he had to retire from cricket due to his injuries, boxing will propably shorten his lifespan even further. Anyway as someone wrote before average amateur will put hom on his ass.
Doubt they'll have him in there with anyone capable of doing that. Says it's not a TV stunt, but it clearly is, because there's no way someone like Barry McGuigan would advise this guy that he has a long term future in the sport.
he'll have a solid right and thats about it, from sparring clips, looks like he cant block a left hook, he's fighting a undefeated american fighter in his debut
