Please tell me why posters think"homecourt advantage"makes you a better boxer

You've never played any sports have you? Not a dick questions, just curious. Fighting at home can give a guy a boost or adrenaline, or just that extra push. Not always, but it can. Not to mention, you're at your own hometown, own home, not a hotel. Can relax more at home.

When you fight in a foreign country the pollution levels are different so your lungs have to adjust
For example if Berto fought Guerrero in Tokyo Guerrero woulda punched himself out by round 8 because the pollution would have got into his lungs and its higher than the usa therefore Berto would have koed him and I wouldn't have lost money...

 

Ali fought all over the world to show eveyone he was the greatest. I do admit it would be intriguing to see Mayweather to fight at wembley or South Africa or whatever.

I am not sure. I think sometimes the crowd is the barometer of the rounds you are winning. like having the scorecards read after each round, so a fighter knows when he needs to pour it on and the crowd carries him to a win. Also the influence on the judges to hear a cheering crowd.

 

You firgot to add that it actually does not make you better.

However, the judges can be swayed by the crowd's reactions.

I saw a fight where the hometown boxer, despite not really connecting, would have the crowd's "Oooooh" and "ahhhhh" everytime he throws a punch, coneccting or not.

And then you have the 1 judge from your country and 2 neutral judges. You might as well count that one judge to be partial.

 

It is a wrong premise because Ali did not actaully fight in a hostile environment.

When he fought Foreman in Zaire, neither of them are really from that country. Unless you consider African-americans as africans.

When he fought Frazier in Manila, Ali actually had the "homecourt" advantage, dining and wining the sitting president-dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Homecourt advantage is only when one fighter is actually from that area, like Wardkke in Jokeland.
