Discuss. People used to and still do criticise Froch's defense saying he takes a lot of shots. So why does his style seem to have longevity but Hatton's didn't?

  2. Froch doesn't go all out to break his opponents hands with his face.

This. Also, Froch has had only 32 fights. Hatton had 48. And their styles are completely different. TBH, I don't really see much room for a comparison.

They have different fighting styles, Frochs agression is far more controlled.

Plus, far more importantly, they're respective lifestyles between fights were polar opposites.

i dont think a lot of people followed froch early in his career. he used to box with his hands literally by his side like he was naseem hamed. the whole time he was just taking shot after shot which he just walked through because hes nails hard.

i first saw him at the amateur worlds in about 99 and followed him since then. another thing people dont seem to remember is how slowly his career progressed. it seemed to stall massively at one point dropping to a couple of fights a year. it took his fight against the canadian fella to get going again.

froch doesnt balloon a couple stones heavier after each fight.

plus he was always in the shadow of calzaghe so would be hungrier for longer

Froch has descent height for his weight division he doesn't have to keep trying to get inside unlike Hatton, who had to force his way in

Froch's ring-age is pretty low. He's also a more cautious fighter. Since the Kessler fight, he's stopped getting hit carelessly and is more inclined to avoid trouble and utilize his longer reach. He ectually tries to box nowadays.

THAT CANADIAN YOUR ON ABOUT IS THE MACHINE GUN MARK WOOLNOUGH froch's 1stdefence of his commonwealth title stopped him in the 11th good fight only man to stop mark. ALSO froch made a good 1st impact on america stopping henry porras in hollywood back in 05 in the 8th round in only froch's 15th fight. but main thing whilst hatton would go on benders after fights with his boys froch will do benders on his woman lol then bk in the gym simple ethics really

Its quite simple. Froch always keeps himself in shape and doesnt go out of his way to get punched in the face by his opponent. Froch can be easy to hit at times but doesnt allow himself to get caught clean over and over again.
