    He doesn't suck though, he's average. You can name plenty of better guys, but for each one there are ten worse guys you can't name because you've never heard of them because they aren't good enough to even get a whiff of a minor title like the one he made a bunch of defenses of. Domestic level slugger. Only made to look like he sucks when he steps up past that.

    You also need to factor in familial pride, which is huge in Mexican culture. It's be disrespectful to not pay tribute to the person he was named after and who probably inspired him to take up boxing.
