That, and controlling the center of the ring and using uppercuts that became increasingly effective as time went on. That said, a case could be made quite clearly that Cotto was even with Trout in the first half of the fight, and he was forced into a situation where he had to play catch-up from the start against FMJ.

Either way, a good win for Trout..when judged on its own merits.

Trout is the real 154 champ, Floyd has no business at this weight

Just like with any other sports, you train for the opponent. I am pretty sure Cotto put more effort in the Floyd fight.. Just a hunch.

The pre fight video should let you know all that you need to. Cotto was crying talking about wanting to see his children grow up and stuff and how he most likely wants to call it a career.

I think Mayweathers performance was better and that the fight was a little bit closer but this was a great great win for Trout he has a bright future

nah, I was even surprised Cotto still came out competitive against Floyd
I expected Floyd to embarrass him or at least dominate him in that fight

So does it mean that Trout is now a fair opponent for Floyd?
or is he still not good enough....

I don't think so. I think Trout still has what it takes to rise up

been having the same assessment regarding cotto even before the loss to trout, he is good but not great, he is blessed at least he won 3 titles in 3 different divisions.
