Last night he just lost to a better fighter and physical disadvantages. Trout is that 'good'. Matter of fact, after re-watching the fight Cotto technically boxed better than I've ever seen him before. Pedro Diaz has done a really good, really great job with him. Seldom have I seen him fight so smartly. He just came up short. Still give Cotto a chance of beating a lot of top tier people, that includes Canelo Alvarez. Based also on last night Canelo loses to Trout. There's a reason he ducked him back in June.
He was shot to **** dude. You want to see a unshot Cotto watch Cotto vs Floyd, that's an unshot Cotto.
Look no further than the growing cobweb of hideous tattoos covering cotto's body as evidence that he is mentally shot.
That was Sulaiman's doing http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=413194 Cotto looked slow, clumsy, not sharp at all and his stamina shittier than ever, i dont know what fight were you watching. Its obvious he has physically declined a lot.
He could have fought better, when you are fighting at the elite you have to be 100% both mentally and psychical to win at a consistent basis, or you end up like Dawson. I think the Mayweather loss was still lingering.
he and floyd are just too small for 154. and thats why canelo wanted to fight them. hell take a year off, move back to 147 and still be competitive if not dominant.
too small and past his prime by a landslide, he's so skilled that he's still fun to watch but he's no where near the wrecking machine he was at 140 and 147. his arms and shoulders are way to big at 154 and its taking away his snap and speed. he should either go back to 147 or hang-em up. guy has taken an enormous amount of punishment and fighting trout was a moronic idea at this point in his career. he took a beating, left millions on the table and hurt his marketability for what?
no longer prime, but your right not shot. hes just a blown up WW who is going to have problems with the bigger guys at 154.
How's that? Last night, Cotto was technically terrible. His skills have eroded immensely and at this point I'd genuinely be concerned for his well-being if he was to fight another top fighter at any weight class.
This... I think he gives most of the top guys at 154 hell though, and IDK if he can get back to 147 but if he could then I can see him picking up another strap down there
