I like Mike but come now. He's Manny Pacquiao before there was Manny Pacquiao. Of course a man such as himself would root for the boxer who's more like himself. I bet if Ali was asked who would win he would write down Floyd on a piece of paper. Fighters are going to be more biased towards their styles.

 

Put them both together in 2009, Pacquiao wins. He's a stylistic nightmare for Floyd. Marquez counters, and then stands and trades. He will take getting hit in order to counter. Floyd counters once, and backs off, his shoulder roll doesn't work against southpaws as well. Marquez puts himself in harm's way to get that counter, Floyd keeps his distance and relies on his reach - big differences between both fighters defensive styles.

Now I'm not sure who would win, it all depends on how far Pacquiao has regressed. Pacquiao beating Floyd depends on him being active and very offensive, throwing in combinations for 3 minutes of every round. If he fought Mayweather the way he fought Marquez in 3rd fight, Floyd wins.

If people think the Manny Pacquaio looking as mobile as a tree in his past two fights would beat Floyd Mayweather they're diluded. A few years ago, yes definitely possibly. Now it is not.

Three people to blame for the fight not happening. Mayweather, for generally being reluctant to get into the ring with anyone he suspects has a chance of beating him (although I don't think Pacquiao does anymore), Pacquiao for coming up with ridiculous excuses to not take random testing, but most of all Bob Arum, for putting as many roadblocks in front of the fight as he could possibly think of.

Even if Mayweather and Pacquiao were both champing at the bit for the fight, agreeing to terms and conditions, the fight would have still been near impossible to make as long as Bob Arum was involved.

 

Completely agree, as I said above your post. From the last 2 fights, he plays into Mayweather's hands - a slow tempo with minimal movement = Floyd picking him apart with ease

Mayweather is a show boater. He does all kinds of beautiful boxing to thrill the audience and he knows against Pacquiao he can't do the showboating and is going to be in a real fight.

That **** he said about Cotto. How Floyd said he could have had an easier time with Cotto, but he wanted to put on an exciting fight so he deliberately made it tough on himself to showboat the audience. That wouldn't work with Pacquiao and Floyd knows it. It would be a tough fight because of Pacquiao's style combined with Floyd's unexplainable Paranoia when it comes to Pacquiao.
