Was Lewis the best HW of the 90's?

Lewis. only guy in the 90's that comes even close was on PEDs.

 

probably is lewis on dominance, but not legacy; gotta give that to holyfield.

lewis came in after everyone, which is unfortunate because it means he couldnt fight a prime good fighter, other than vitali (which i think is his best win, despite it being controversial)

i think holyfield and lewis in their primes is a 50/50 fight, holyfields punches were in much better combinations and faster, as well as him moving better, in 91/92 ish.

probably the only one on here, but i think a prime, motivated riddick bowe (from first holyfield fight) could beat a prime lewis, and certainly beats him if they fought when they should have (92/92).
i dont think riddick was scared of lewis, as it looks clearly to be the case, but i think rock newman was to blame for lewis and bowe not fighting. when bowe fought holyfield for the first time, it was a 90/10 money split for holyfield - which bowe accepted, and rock newman then offered lewis a 10% split just like bowe got, and lewis' team refused. lewis at the time was a don king fighter, and king managed to get the WBC to force bowe to a much more even split, and if not, then he would be forced to vacate the WBC belt, and instead of doing that, rock got riddick to bin the belt.

tyson i think was at his best and achieved more in the 80s

probaby is lewis for his great dominant run when champion.

imagine how good it could of been if: lewis turned pro in his first olympics, tyson never went off the rails and fired his trainer, bowe never had rock newman as a manager, and mercer was dedicated.

Yeah, but so what. The Tyson fight really is irrelevant. They were both old men, and both admit that. Still, at the time of the fight you could very good odds on Lewis.

I think the answer is yes. It's exceptional.
If your counter argument is "you have to lose be two time", isn't Holy a 3 or 4 time champion? Doesn't that mean he lost more?

It's quite a common trick by Holyfield fans to use the words "competition faced" rather then "fighters they beat".

Holy's record crumbles a bit when you have to actually beat the other guy.

Vitali was bigger, and 31. Had about 30 fights and had held the WBO prior. Is that not prime? Or am I forgetting that this is ESB, and you can't be in your prime and lose?

I'm pretty sure Michael Grant was bigger than Lewis as well.
Akinwande was taller and the same weight I think.

 

First off Tyson was nothing, he has no great wins.

Lennox probably was the best, but there were so many good and great fighters in the 90's that he did not fight, so we will never know.
