Arrelano is waiting on the outside, inching forward and leaning his head out of the way of Magdaleno's jab. Arrelano is giving some ground, wary of Magdaleno's speed. Arrelano lunges with a left hook on the way in as Magdaleno slows to a lull, and Magdaleno counters with a quick right-left. Arrelano down! He beats the count and moves in to tie up. Robert Byrd struggles to get them to break. A minute left. Arrelano keeps grabbing Magdaleno before he can get a punch off, twisting him violently. Magdaleno waits for Arrelano, who doubles a left jab into the air in front of him. Magdaleno scoots back and drops a right jab to the body.

Round 3

Arrelano circles as Magdaleno whips in fast right hook leads and lefts from the outside. Arrelano ties up. Break. Arrelano hops to his left, then darts in with a double jab. Magdaleno slides over to the side, then jumps in with fast combos. Right hooks and chopping lefts up top. Arrelano backs up to the ropes. Magdaleno swoops down and up with a left uppercut. Chopping overhand left by Magdaleno. Arrelano counters off the ropes with a left upper-hook, catching Magdaleno flush. Arrelano gets off the ropes and walks Magdaleno to the opposite set. Magdaleno darts in under an Arrelano jab with a left to the body. 1-2 by Arrelano, blocked as Magdaleno bounces around him.

Round 4

Arrelano squats and jabs the body. Arrelano is moving forward, dropping straight down with his ear muffs on as Magdaleno whips away with fast hooks and scooping lefts. Magdaleno is sliding his feet back and looking to draw Arrelano onto the counter right hook. Arrelano is moving in and stopping abruptly to keep Magdaleno off rhythm. Lunging right hook lead by Magdaleno, quick enough to dart in and land it before Arrelano can react. Right jab, double left uppercut by Magdaleno. Head clash. Right hook by Magdaleno.

Round 5

Arrelano is following and fluttering the left jab. Magdaleno snaps out the right hook from outside and leans back after executing it. Arrelano tries to instinctively hit back with a high left hook when Magdaleno hits him, but is blasted with a counter left before he can get halfway through the motion. Magdaleno steps back and lets Arrelano advance, slowly, warily, into the path of the high right jab and long hooking shots on the back foot. Magdaleno pecks at Arrelano's left glove with his jab, still moving backward but in firm control of range as Arrelano doesn't want to creep in too close.
