The phrase "controversial decision" is often applied to an outright robbery by boxing journalists. Roy isn't having any of it. see 2:45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YPwZnVJg-oo
See the problem with Roy is he'll say completely reasonable stuff like this but then revert to being a complete company man during fight broadcasts. At the Chavez-Martinez weigh-in he ranted about HBO being partly responsible for Martinez being stripped, but during the actual Chavez-Zbik broadcast he was kissing Chavez's ass more than anyone and declaring him a true world champion. Also the stuff in the interview about Roy trying to fight everyone is pure self-serving rubbish.
I actually think it took serious balls on Roy's part to pretty openly implicate HBO's role in Martinez getting stripped on 24/7 overtime. The guy has a clear record of standing up for himself and what he believes even when it doesn't suit HBO. He says cooky stuff sometimes but when you really listen to him he's surpisingly knowledgeable and passionate.
Roy to Steve Collins "I tried to duck him in my prime!? I wouldn't even duck him now!". :rofl As previously stated and confirmed, Collins turned down a career high payday coming off a win over Eubank to fight RJJ. To drunken British fans, watch the pre-fight in-ring interview before RJJ fought Brannon publicly and openly, I don't remember Collins responding to any of that when it mattered. Now that all of these guys are retired or shot to nothingness, RJJ ducked them. Where were they when it mattered?
