I'm a major Mayweather fan but I'm still sad Pac got knocked out like this

He probably didn't even feel it. I see where you guys are coming from, but from the fifth on Marquez was taking serious abuse, nose pouring blood profusely, probably broke, looked like couldn't even breathe, well on his way to a humbling stoppage loss... That hurt worse than seeing Manny get laid out with one shot. Although I've never been more shocked watching a live fight.

 

Marquez cannot beat Floyd. It would be the same fight. Floyd will not give him chances to counterpunch. I actually thought before this fight that Pacman would be unorthodox and use his jab to win the rounds with speed and coast to a decision. I thought we would see a surprising tactic. Since I thought he might lose if he got into a war. I didn't think he would be stopped like that, but I thought he might lose a decision.

 

While it was sweet to see Pacquiao face down like that. I hope there is no real damage other than to his pride.

 

don't like seeing any fighter out like that whether it's gentelmen like pac, hatton, paul williams, jermain taylor or loudmouths like mayweather, judah, chisora, or khan. after all at the end of the fight they are someone's son, husband, boyfriend, or father. they do have a life outside of boxing where they have to be in the best health possible for their families. i'd prefer him to retire after this because he's got too much on his plate as a politician, actor, game show host, singer, philanthrapist, and oh yeah he's also a boxer. but fighters can come back from this and go on to win big fights. duran managed to do well after hearns ko and hearns managed to do well after leonard and hagler. they are also on another level from pac and they don't have as much on their plate as pac seems to have these days.

 

Well still, Manny has done more for boxing than Floyd. No offense. But a guy who fight them all and doesn't play games makes boxing what it is. A fight like this helps boxing.

I always said Mayweather could beat Pacman with his speed, but bottomline, Floyd did not have the guts to fight him. And Floyd probably thinks he will go down greater than Manny. But Manny fought the greats and beat the greats. One loss as devastating as this one will not change his other fights. I hope there is not a fifth fight. Manny looks like he will lose that one also. Manny might have to retire because when a great fighters chin starts to go, then it is time to retire. I didn't think Manny should fight this fight. I thought he was giving JMM a chance to beat him when he had the edge in the trilogy.

 

I honesty was shook JMM ****ed Pac up more than he did with that shot... Jumped out my seat and stared speechless. Hope the CT scan or whatever he's doing now doesn't show bad results.

Even as a big Mayweather fan you don't want to see a boxer permanently damaged.

 

I honestly had my arms in the air and a look of shock/sadness on my face when Marquez knocked Manny out.

i also have very mixed emotions like you. on one hand i've met manny three times. met him before the second morales fight at a blackjack table and managed to get an autograph and he also was a hell of a blackjack player sitting at third base protecting us and not making any crazy stupid moves. after the first time i saw him when he came to sf to do a meet and greet to promote marquez 2 and david diaz and he remembered me. so i felt sad in this sense but in another sense i feel like hopefully all these casual boxing fans who only know mayweather and pac will finally lose interest in boxing and stop speaking out of their ass. half the so called boxing fans will leave after tonight. the other half will leave hopefully when mayweather starts to slip. nobody beats father time.

 

Who else can he fight? he got nothing else to prove. either Floyd or retire. Atleast he gets the biggest payday vs Floyd.

 

I was worried for a moment, but really I think getting your lights turned out like that is probably better than protracted punishment over the length of a fight. I think that was a good way to close the Pac-Marquez saga. In the end, all things considered, neither fighter comes away as a clear winner over the course of 4 fights

I'd like to see Pac-Bradley 2. I'd like to see Pac give it another go, then retire- win, lose or draw

 

Manny is a pressure fighter he took Alot of shots his career. Gloving up last minute i dont think he cares

I'm a former floyd fan & wouldn't mind Floyd getting folded like that by Sergio .These idiots will deny it till it hits you :!:.No man is unbeatable,undefeated just mean you haven't fought anybody worth mentioning.No threats Floyd would still stay away from pac,Marquez softened him up he could go for the kill but he wont atsch., One clown down one to go.
