I have to agree when people suggest that DeGale has the wrong trainer. I think he would benefit elsewhere. Still DeGale / Bute sounds a good match up. I rate DeGale highly and think his style could cause problems for any SMW, fast hands good movement. I thought DeGale looked good against Zuniga. I think if DeGale was in full confidence mode, he could bamboozle Bute and out point him. It would have to be to a gameplan, as Bute does have big KO power
DeGale would not beat Bute. DeGale's not even beaten a legitimate top class European opponent who wasn't ancient and nearly shot to ****. He's laboured in every fight he's had since Groves. Meanwhile, outside of his loss to Froch, Bute has trounced every Euro-level opponent he's faced since the first fight with Andrade. I see this going to exact same way. DeGale trying to be cute in the centre of the ring and getting clocked with sneaky shots. Bute is faster, better schooled and more powerful than DeGale. Mid-rounds stoppage for the Romanian.
I can't see the fight happening if Bute goes ahead with the Froch rematch. I can't see Bute doing any better than last time and I think he will retire.
Whilst Bute has too much at this stage, another beatdown from Froch may make DeGale's chances against Bute a lot better.
This is the scenario I am looking at. Along with Degales possible progress. I don't think he needs a change of trainer though. I remember a lot of people claiming froch should switch trainers.
