could last night have been a blessing in disguise for pacquaio ?

hear me out here for a few seconds.

people are saying that mayweather and pacquaio must be kicking themselves for not making their fight when they had a chance, because now the biggest money generating fight in history wont happen.....but...i think after last night, a fifth pacqauio - marquez fight is the biggest fight on the planet now and i honestly think it could sell more numbers than if mayweather - pacquaio had to happen....it's the biggest boxing match of the 21st century (the fifth one between them)

i can't imagine any boxing fan...or sports fan with a casual interest in boxing.....or, more importantly, anyone who would have bought mayweather-pacquaio if it got made at the right time, not buying into a fifth fight in this series.....therefore its as big if not bigger than a mayweather fight would have been at any stage.

the next fight between them generates an astronomic amount of money.

When will JMM-Pac 5 happen when JMM is 41? I still think Pac v Mayweather is the biggest fight with Mayweather being a huge favorite.

    Being knocked out cold?

All I can say is,if this is a blessing in disguise, it must be very well disguised.

the fights up to this point have provided so much that marquez's age won't be a negative factor.

question - if the fifth fight got made for may next year....would you buy it or not ?

PAC Jmm 5 does not outsell PAC vs Floyd or Floyd vs Alvarez

a blessing in that the mayweather fight looked like it was never going to get made...and if it goes like i think it will, manny will make more money from the next marquez fight than even he could have dreamed of

You actually have a point... If Manny decides to continue his next bout will sell well anyways because everyone is going to want to see if he can come back from this.

    Without PPV they'd fought already.

Protection and PPV go hand in hand.

so...you think that anyone with enough interest in boxing to buy PAC vs Floyd or Floyd vs Alvarez WON'T have enough interest in PAC v marquez 5 to buy it ??.....one of the great modern rivalries in the sport and they won't buy it ?

    U pacturds are ****in stupid!
If they fight again it won't do no more than the 3rd and PAC is def not going to see his usual pay. He just lost up to 100 million he could have made in 2 mayweather fights.
The PAC hype train has crashed and his ppv numbers will do the same!

Distortion in risk/reward is the exact opposite of consumer friendly product in most PPV ..'stories'.

Just look at Canelo. He and business behind him likes money over legacy and some 'fightfans' here defend it as default; "it's good business move".

..or even worse; "He shouldn't fight for 50/50 split"!?

Sky PPV-money was derailing Wlad/Haye at some point as well.

DLH kept fighting the best and Holyfield had to.
