from the other fights... Some people say the first fight was scored wrong and Pac should've won. Other say Marquez should've won the first fight. The Third fight was highly controversial and I personally thought Marquez clearly won. Now, after this KO, do people feel like Marquez got the better of the series.. or Pac still has the edge?
I felt Marquez won a close one in the 2nd and clearly in the 3rd. This time he just put an emphasis on it and showed he was the better fighter.
Me too. But apart from number 4. I am happy to accept views that Pac won either of the other fights. They were all razor thin. I think because i am a fan of counter punching i just prefer the work of Marquez, to the sometimes wild, but very effective work of the pac man. Also i think Marquez 100% has the advantage in the fights now. Pac was meant to destroy him in the third fight. Lets not forget that. For marquez to be older, and still competing with what was a P4P 1 or 2 fighter, shows that Marquez is a better pure boxer and doesnt rely 80% on his athleticism.
Ive argued this to death so many times before. By the standards of how boxing is supposed to be scored JMM won the third fight 9 - 3 , or 8 - 4 if you are being generous to pac. Honestly if i was completely drunk and out of it i could MAYBE see 7 - 5 to JMM. A draw let alone a win for Pac takes any form of reality straight out the window.
Marquez never was able to put a dot over "i" I think all previous fights were close and the refs scored them properly, Marquez was never in the position to completely close the gap and prove he was better, he had some moments in the first fight but he was almost annihilated in the first round. In the last fight .... if not the lucky stoppage JMM would die at that ring trying to prove something, he was bleeding hard and you can view this ending punch more as of Christmas gift from PAC.
I think I scored it 6-6 first time I watched it live and 7-5 for jmm both times since. Is 7-5 Pac so outrageous?
