Let me conduct this poll once again to see the difference between the pre and the post fight periods. Btw, I don't mean the immediate rematch but I mean that the rematch that can happen anytime in the next year or so. Thanks.
Down the line if it makes sense. Right now the bipolar dynamic of boxing at the elite level has been dismantled, and there are lots of good fights that can be made involving either man with other fighters.
That last ending was so ****in sweet that I don't want to risk the chance of a 5th one spoiling things. I'd rather not see it. (I'm thinking of Vazquez - Marquez IV as I'm typing this. That 4th fight was utter unecessary crap)..... then again, these two guys haven't dissapoined thus far so if a 5th one actually comes to pass I'm definitely buying the PPV again. :yep
4 is enough. My answer is the same as it was before the fight. Like it or not, there's huge demand for a Marquez-Mayweather rematch though I would personally prefer to see him go back down and face the Garcia-Judah winner. A Rios fight might make sense for Juanma but it makes zero sense for Rios because he's gonna make really good money against whoever he fights and he'll never beat Marquez.
That last fight also proved a climactic conclusion of what I already suspected... JMM is clearly the better fighter. I have him at 3-0-1 in the series and that destructive ending finally put an end to the discussion in my eyes. So a 5th fight would be unecessary.
Why not? It's the only worthwhile option for Pacquiao, and it's probably still the best option for JMM. It makes sense for both and the demand is most certainly there. Of course I'd like to see it again. :smoke
Well, as a fan, I think JMM should retire and go off into the sunset. Ending a career on that note? What better way for him to retire? This assumes an exclusive focus on legacy, however. Boxing, of course, is a business, and with the profound magnitude and the nature of his victory over Pacquiao, JMM deserves more paydays should he want them. Pacquiao still provides him the best payday, and even if a Floyd payday secured him more money, I think just about everyone will agree Juan's chances against Pacquiao are significantly better than his chances with Floyd. So it's really up to Marquez. As an idealist, I think JMM retiring on this not would be like a Hollywood ending to an amazing career. He's 39! It ain't getting better than this for Marquez. But at the same time, I can understand the appeal of wanting another nice payday before hanging them up to provide for his family and loved ones. If Marquez fights, a 5th fight with Pac is all I'd want to see. And I honestly believe Marquez5 or retirement are the only plausible options for Manny. :smoke
I still don't like the idea of a 5th fight in an era with so many viable contenders. Pacman still has unfinished business with Bradley. Hell, Devon Alexander is boring as **** but I'd rather see him get a shot than watch a 5th fight between these two. Marquez can go back down and fight Rios or the Garcia/Judah winner. My point is that they both have several options...
This fight was meant to end all controversy and it did for JMM and most boxing fans. For the sake of both boxer's health, there should be no 5th fight. Both need a long rest! If either fights before Sept 2013, I think it can be disastrous.
