I noticed the few times wale hit Galahad he didn't seem to like it one bit so I'm not sure how he would deal getting hit at a higher level, very skilful though
Thanks for the feedback lads. I'll make sure to start watching his back catalogue. I've been most impressed with Kal Yafai of the young, lower weight prospects.
yup,me too he seems the best of all our prospects at the mo. as for galahad,im not impressed at all,he is obviously awkward, like most ingle boxers, but im with most,he looks easy to hit and his pop is a bit poor, quigg and frampton would **** him,he needs to steer clear of them :thumbsup
Just watching Galahad vs Wale. Pretty impressed with how he picks his shots, the variation and speed. If he had real natural dig he would be a frightening prospect. That said he pulls back in straight lines and upright at times and if he's going to drop the hands, then he needs to be a bit less stiff in his stance. He moves to the side fine and does have upper body movement when he is in close, but when boxing how he wants he is a bit rigid and then open to counters. Definitely does not hit hard but to be fair is often not sitting on the shots either. Very nice speed and sees openings really well too.
Quigg and Frampton both stop him without a doubt IMO. TBH i dont see why hes so highly rated, hes a good skilled fighter with great speed. But his lack of punch and physical power will be his undoing, he's too up right at times leaving his chin exposed and backs up in straight lines. Against Quigg/Frampton it would look like man against boy. If i was Dickens i would be pushing for this fight this year, he has not beaten no-one near the quality that Galahad has yet, so step it up in his next two fights and take Galahad later on in the year. Id fancy his chances.
Bit harsh from the two fights I've just watched. He is too easy to hit, because of how he pulls back and has that straight back when on the backfoot. But he picks shots really nicely, throws the lead uppercut when being closed down, jabs to the body and head (which is often overlooked these days), finds openings and puts bunches of shots together at speed and with accuracy. But yes, he has no power that I can see or really imagine developing that much and he is open to counters.
not harsh at all strike,(unless you mean the **** bit :tdh)he is awkward, he fights a bit like naz but with out the power, and naz without that awsome power would have struggled at the top level :good
I think he is far less unorthodox than Naz and less open. He also mixes his punches up very nicely and throws things like the uppercut with good disguise. This is all based from only 2 fights that I've seen, so I am willing to accept that I don't have the best basis for holding a strong opinion on him.
i didnt say he is exactly like naz strike, noone fights the same way as naz,but i look at galahad and i see naz in a lot of things apart from power. but no probs strike,i understand why people like him,im just not a big fan thats all,and i love elvis :thumbsup
There's not that much footage on youtube. There's one of his early fights vs Sid Razak where the Kid is about 10lbs lighter & he absolutely bamboozles Sid. Its only a 4x2min bout but great fun to watch.
A journeyman in my mates gym as boxed them both and rates jazza more highly ,although he does think Mitchell Smith is the best young prospect he's faced
