This scenario is very plausible. Reason being is BJ can still put you out with one shot.

Penn is taking all the wrong fights. First he took on a much bigger guy with crazy stamina and an iron chin, now he's taking on a young killer who's also way bigger than him. :-( I'd be surprised if he doesn't lose badly, I'm hoping he won't, but am afraid he will.

BJ should just retire. He had no business fighting monsters at 170 to begin with, and I don't even know if he can be competitive with the elite 155ers anymore.

Of course he can't be competitive at LW.... He would have never lost to Frankie Edgar, it's been clear since he lost that rematch.

Losing to Edgar means you can't be competitive in the weight class? That's not really giving Edgar a lot of credit.

Child please. His time is up, and he's been on the slide ever since. Matt Hughes' chin is like fine China. BJ Penn hasn't fought at LW in years, and will be ****ing dead at that weight if he ever does again.

How are people not embarrassed to spout this "in shape and motivated" crap over and over again as if it mattered? The guy is always fighting good opponents, but he's getting is ass handed to him over and over and over no matter how good a shape he's in. Give it up folks. He was way more skilled than other guys in the old days and now the game has passed him by. He'd still beat a lot of guys, sure, but an awful lot of the best have been tooling him for the last couple of years. Give it up guys. The dream is over. Time to start treating him like the good-but-not-great fighter that he is.
