Lucky punches aren't set up so perfectly. Right before the punch landed, you can see Marquez back up, lure Manny in and anticipate the lunge.
i am not a fan of pacman but it was lucky in the sense that it was the last second and also manny was running into it and marquez landed perfectly.
He fell into the shot. watch the video he had slipped an marquez ripped the shot off while he was going down. does it take away from juan win no. But manny slipped. I dont even like manny much.
Damn the excuses just keep on mounting. First he lost his balance, next it was a lucky punch, then adding to that that it happened with 1 second left. The rounds are 3 minutes long not 2:59.
Look, the punch itself wasn't lucky, Pacquiao knows this. Marquez aimed for the exposed chin, executed perfectly and Pacquiao went down. What was lucky was that such a wide open opportunity with chin exposed and Pacquiao falling into Marquez's right hand presented itself at all. Not only that, but presented itself when Marquez was in the perfect position to counter having not taken a punch himself in the lead up to it... So of course there was an element of luck, considering Marquez may not have lasted another round... This "Marquez set him up" is laughable considering Marquez was holding on for dear life, barely able to breathe...Pacquiao got careless and presented him with an opportunity he's probably never had before in a boxing ring
1 - He was off balance. This is fact, not excuse 2 - The punch itself was not lucky, that's bull, the manner in which the opportunity to land that punch presented itself was fortunate and rare 3 - Fact it happened on 2:59 is completely irrelevant, both boxers fight until the bell goes.
Lol this was no lucky punch. Pacquiao might be able to win a 5th fight and not to make the same mistake again but speaking of a lucky punch when you're fighting a counter puncher like JMM is cheap
that was not lucky. No such thing as a lucky punch in boxing. If lucky means the perfect punch landed in the exact way it has to for a knockout like that then yes. Everything came together. I still have watched that knockout over and over. I don't go to youtube much for fights, but I am mesmorized by the contrast in action. One moment a fast paced fight and next moment Pacman is out cold. The fact there was a knockdown in round 3 and the style of fight that was not luck for punch to land. Do I think it will happen again if there is a fight 5? Probably not if they do fight again because Manny will not walk into it. That was a perfect punch. and the fact that Manny's right foot was stopping on JMM's foot means Manny was distracted at the moment and the punch which landed was very clean on a relaxed fighter a little. Everything came together. #1. The attitude of both guys wanting to get the knockout, and thus Manny taking more chances. #2. Manny's right foot hitting JMM's and Manny being distracted by that since his mind shifts to his foot in that second. #3. JMM hitting harder and working on his punching power in this fight and #4. maybe Manny diminishing in skills. Also some have said #5. Manny having too many things on his mind and not concentrating on the fight as much. Everything together turned into the perfect punch. Eliminate one of those variables and we don't get that knockout probably.
