The boxing gods give you authority to change one thing about the sport.

In America, the state hands out the licenses. So for your proposal to work, the state would have to run the sport. However, there are 50 states. Do you really want the government running boxing? Even if you do, it is in strict contrast to this countries system of capitalism. Congress would never allow this to happen.

I strongly disagee with this one. 15% is way too high. Furthermore, that isn't even legal in the U.S.

 

What im saying is though that the one organisation is given the authority to run boxing as a whole not the government or some state commission.

 

If only one private organization is allowed to give out licenses and sanction fights, that is what is called a monopoly in the U.S. This is strictly against U.S anti-trust laws. I doubt anyone would be able to get an anti-trust exemption on this one.

a very stringent evaluation on the consistancy of Judge and referee performances.. When a judge has a poor or off day it often can ruin a mans whole career or chance of a better life.. We need very fair clean judging in boxing.. In other words and many cases impartial and unbiased judging..

 

Too many things wrong with boxing to just pick one of them to change. One that sticks in my mind, is that a reviewing panel should be able to overturn a bad decision (ala Sweet Pea v Chavez) and be able to fine/suspend refs/fighters/judges when something blatantly corrupt happens, ala Ottke v Reid.

Fighters careers can be changed dramatically by one bad decision.

 

Nobody gets into the top ten without beating a top ten contender.

 

#1 A pension plan for retired pro fighters w/medical insurance.
#2 One governing body, with one set of rules.
#3 15 rd title fights.
#4 No in between wgt classes.
#5 Same day weigh ins.

I know thats 5 but I think they are all important.

 

maybe a set retirement age for fighters between 35-40, same day weigh in is a must, 15 rounders, outlaw hugging, when a fighter just tries to go through the round punching once or twice to gain back energy, maybe to make it more interesting the fighter should have a point deducted by the judges at the end of the round.
