You are correct, generally speaking, on the gallbladder's function. It makes bile to help breakdown fats and stuff. It is not mandatory to live.

    ***So everyone knows***

    Important

The cancer spread to his liver and 3/4 of his liver was removed - this is called metastasis and is HIGHLY TERMINAL. Also, one cannot live without a liver. Situation looks bleak to be honest.

Thoughts and prayers to Omar and his family.

No, people can live with no gallbladder. The thing is the cancer may have spread to his liver and probably his intetstine. Even if he survives, he will never be the same. He may end up with colostomy pouch or worse.

My medical background is strong, so trust me when I say this. These types of cancer are mostly terminal. From the sounds of things, it may have even spread to his spleen and his pancreas (worst). That's highly possible. So, that should give him about a year and a half or so

Damn. Sounds like a definite retirement.

Really hope he can escape with his life at least.

The man's class, so young, so full of talent and promise, in his prime with so much unfulfilled potential.... :verysad

This one makes me resent human mortality bitterly...

My prayers for you and family Omar. If anyone is ever deserving of a miracle, you surely are one..

Funny story.. I added him to myspace a few years ago.. And we were talking boxing and out of no where he sends me pictures of these twin girls. He told me he was ****ing them both.. They were hella pretty, twin sisters.. A bit random but he's a funny guy.. real laid back.
