Calzaghe was the man in two weight divisions.
Froch only recently beat a reigning title holder the first two were vacant titles.

Froch will fight anyone anywhere, Calzaghe cherry picked his way to 46-0. Only a right div would vote for Calzaghe in this poll.

    Froch

Calzaghe is the welsh version of Roy Jones.

Both done well but I pick Froch. His list of opponents up to Mack is very impressive and the win over Bute was brilliant. Bite may have been overrated but plenty of people had him down to batter Froch.

I'd imagine casual fans would go for Joe, and more boxing die hards for Carl.

    fixed.

jokes aside, I really dislike Froch, possibly even more than Adrien Broner, but the way he has gone about his career is something you don't see much these days. Could have chosen an easy opponent after Ward, but went after Bute. Says it all. He deserves respect for this. The miserable, bitchy, charisma-less ****.

:think Not sure I agree with that, what's your reasoning for that generalisation?

I have the utmost of respect for both men.

I can understand why people would choose Froch; he is fearless and has faced every challenge out there whilst travelling the globe.

He absolutely lives the life and is a superb role model for the sport.

However for me it has to be Calzaghe, certainly at this point in time.

He beat everyone he ever faced, had a huge number of title defences and retired as an undefeated world champion.

Not many champions in the sports history can lay claim to that.

Therefore at this moment in time it has to be Calazghe for me.

However ask me again when Foch eventually hangs up his gloves....... :think:D

I respect Calzaghe's skills and his incredible reign as an unbeaten world champion, although he left it late to unify.

I respect Froch's warrior mentality, willingness to fight anyone and travel to do so, and his tough uncompromising style.

I don't see why they need to be compared, they're from two slightly different times and both have their individual merits, you can respect one without thinking the other a bum or over rated!
