So now this fight has finally been confirmed as taking place, what are people's opinions on it? Apart from 1 early defeat, his only losses have came against Wlad which there's not a lot of shame in. He's beaten most of the B & C level contenders from America and is a legitimate contender in the Heavyweight division. It's a big step up and a good test for Price IMO.

And as it seems almost obligatory for any thread on either him or Fury to turn into a debate on them 2, who's the better opponent? Thompson or Johnson? Personally I feel Thompson to be the higher calibre, more proven of the 2 but more crucially the bigger threat too. Price should learn more from the fight than Fury did vs. Johnson.

As i said at the other place feel Tony's style plays into Price's hands and there was talk before the Wlad II fight that his body wasn't losing the weight it seemed like he was holding it and didn't look as good as he did years before. The age is probably starting to show for him. He's still able to take out the lower end of the scale ''prospects''..

I feel Price should stop him in middle rounds if that.

Thompson is too old now at 40-41.

So right now I would place him equal alongside the Kingpin.

That is a step up in class from his last 2 fights I will give him that, hopefully Thompson comes to win and not for a payday. (like that bum Kingpin)

That does mean the combined age of Price's last 3 opponents will be 128 though

    ...Just sayin.

Step-up but I expect Price to flatten him to be perfectly honest, early to mid-rounds stoppage.

It's a step up and likely another KO victory.

I'm really impressed. If Price flattens Thompson it shows he's not domestic class, he takes a leap out of that to World level.

And now Midget has left BOXNation hopefully we won't see Price in a waste of time against Chisora. Although not really sure how Maloney can afford Thompson? Not sure of Price's situation at the mo', can anyone give me the details?

Thompson ain't all that but he can punch at a lower level, and he's a big bloke. Good fight this, expect Price to win but will be interesting to compare it to Wlad's last fight with Thompson.

Well Thompson's a genuine top 15 hw I think so this is a massive step up. Anakward fighter is Thompson being right handed but fighting out of the southpaw stance he should prove a huge test for Price. Despie getting Ko'd twice be Klitschko I still felt The Tiger casued him problems during both fights. Great to see this fight made good and early too so there's no excuse for Thompson not being prepared after taking it on a few weeks notice. This fight wont go further than 8 rounds whoever wins it.

Very good news for Price if, and its a big if, it actually happens.

As an all round fighter TT is clearly superior to Kingpin, though very different in style.

Hopefully he displays more ambition than Johnson did & the fight is a better spectacle than Fury-Johnson.

I would have preferred price v kingpin to see if he could knock him out. And if he couldn't what is he's like in the 11th and 12 round.

Good news, i know people were starting to doubt the fight would happen, good step up for Price he needs it, I imagine people will still give him stick just because of Thompson's age, i rate TT higher than KJ.

Price has made massive progress this year. This is the perfect fight for him.
