If Calzaghe actually punched anyone then I'd respect his victories a lot more. As it stands, he just gets TKOs when the referee confuses his opponent's befuddlement at millions of wild slaps for his being hurt.
Troll thread, obviously. Calzaghe has attracted more than his fair share of haters here. The correct answer is JMM, by a decent measure.
honestly, if they could have fought in a p4p way head to head I can see Joe almost easily outboxing JMM. Joe gets underrated a lot.
Undefeated fighters have become far more commonplace in recent years, and with the proliferation of titles and 2 fight a year schedules that trend will inevitably continue. There isn't the same mystique with the big "0" when you have the likes of Ottke and Pichit taking pride of place in that elite club; that isn't even taking into account asterisks like Harry Simon and Terry Marsh. History will judge Calzaghe in the same way as other fighters - quality/quantity of wins and his performances in the ring. An undefeated record is nice window dressing, but in the overall scheme of things it means only slightly more than bugger all.
-Joe calzaghe would not have lost to freddie norwood. -Marquez could also be a very dirty fighter! He was deducted twice for repeated low blows vs Chris John (Whom he lost to!) Odd comparison really. Chalk n cheese. What's next Hopkins or pacquiao?
