The front page posted a link to a good article on Steve Cunningham. Here's an excerpt; "Some people are going to say Haye is running from me, but this is a business move on his part. There's more money at heavyweight, so I can't fault him completely. But I do fault him for saying there's no reason to stay at cruiserweight because he cleaned up the division. He didn't. I'm the IBF champion and he didn't clean me up." http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/sports/16774916.html
I thought Cunningham has been calling out the other titlists for a while now? And I think he took exception to Haye saying he cleaned out the division. From his perspective, I can see how that would be a shot at him.
Cunnigham could probably be successful at heavyweight himself. I imagine he fights at about 205/210lbs, which is easily big enough at heavyweight. He'd beat Maskaev, I think. Haye vs. Cunningham may still happen. I'd love to see it when both are heavyweight champions. USS should be America's saviour, as he's better than any other American heavyweight.
yeah I like Steve he's got great skill, fast hands, awesome defense. Beating Marco Huck in Germany is almost as impressive as Haye beating Mormeck in France was. He aint got the power to keep Haye off him though. He is cagey and he wouldn't get blown out, but he wouldn't be able to hurt Haye and so Haye would have his way. late KO for Hayemaker. I dont think he has the power at Heavyweight, but he's just as good as Eddie Chambers, who I think is probably America's best young Heavyweight at the moment. Maybe he'll move up, who can say? I'd give him a reasonable chance against Iggy and Chaggy. He ought to show Haye some more respect though. No jab? no boxing ability? Haye's jab is brutal, and his amatuer pedigree shits all over Cunningham's. You done achieve what Haye has achieved without some degree of skill.
Well there are other fights out there for Steve. I mean Macca, Mormeck, Adamek, O'Neil Bell....he's got some options.
I don't think it really matters. He will do alright - Probably stop a couple on accumulation, but he will outbox a lot fairly easily.
