Ariza wasn't hated and fired by both Pac and Khan for his training. He was fired because of his stupid ****ing attitude. But his exercises from a boxing perspective lack the most important ones...bodyweight. No dips to speak of in his regime. LIttle eomphasis on pull ups/compounds lifts for people who want to gain mass. He's overrated in my opinion. Virgil's coach, who isn't as well known, had a better philosphy and knew from training different athletes that they need to be trained differently. I remember during the On Freddie Roach episode night before the Hatton fight, Ariza went up to Manny's hotel room and asked him why he wasn't in bed...it was 10pm . Manny's like...dude don't tell me what to do... Ariza: "that's what mike tyson said before he got knocked out by Douglas" Manny flipped out and apparently kicked him out of the room. He's a dumbass
Hasn't he been working with that hench as **** Jackson? Guy talks sense whenever I've heard him interviewed.
New School & Old School training techniques all have their place. I am just sick of this ******ed monged out attitude boxing fans, boxers, and some trainers have with new school techniques. How do you think athletes have improved in Athletics, Cycling, Swimming, Football, Basketball, NFL...? By just being old school, and doing what the athletes where doing in the 1920's...? No, people have always been striving for that extra edge, that new angle to come in at! trial and error! David Haye still does callisthenics/circuits..? If that's what people consider old school. Just sick of the backwards, people within boxing. I know many amateur boxers, some of them young who are in bad health. Guys who are young and lean, starving themselves and forcing their bodies to fight below their optimised body weights. Spoke to one ******, who tries not to drink much water. There's afew boxers, that are shot before they turn professional. People need to educate themselves. "For their own health"....
Is that why Manny Pac was in his best shape EVER! Blasting guys out, with unexplainable power, speed, and stamina! that seemed to defy logic! And it was the reason he was being accused of steroids! By other fighters, fans and many more. Amir Khan's condition under Ariza was great, conditioning was never his problem. Compound lifts like pull ups..? Do you know what the biggest compound lifts are you ******..? Squats & Deadlifts. And i am sure, callisthenics where apart of Ariza's training somewhere. He did allot of plyometrics, and callisthenics from what i have seen. ****ing backwards mong.
I saw Khan on Sky Sports News a couple of days ago and I though he looked smaller, less muscular. Maybe he isn't hitting the heavy upper body work as much.
He's a 6"3 210 pound heavyweight fighting guys 3 stone heavier than himself, and beating them! most of the time. Was out weighed by 8 stones against Valuev. David Haye & The Kiltschko's are the best conditioned heavyweights in the game. Sit down ******.
Haye was the universal no.1 cruiserweight champ before. What r u on about when u say "puffing his whole career"?
I think Pacman - Marquez 4 showed what the Hernandez/Ariza style strength and conditioning does to boxers. Marquez looked slower and more rigid in terms of punching compared to the third fight, however he was more explosive in terms of power and brought a punching power he has never demonstrated before. Manny laid off the s&c and looked looser then he has done for a while, really zipping in and out. That said without the Ariza workouts of the past 5 yeas he probably wouldnt have zipped through the divisions becoming the physical beast he is.
i would of thought pull ups and dips were a good thing to be doing. pull ups get you really strong without putting on much size
