Hell yeah it should be a super heavy weight division. Weight and size counts. If it didn't , we wouldn't have divisions at all.:bbb
Definitely not. Those who do where would you impose the weight limit? 220? Most heavyweights are over that anyway. Look at the cruisers that have come up. Haye for example is pretty light but has weighed over 220 and could easily do so in order to fight in the premier division.
No, the Klitshkos are big, but that is not the reason they have dominated for so long. They are both extremely dedicated, and have kept themselves in excellent shape throughout their career. They are a credit to the heavyweight division.
They deserve to be where they are, but a superheavyweight division would be better if they are going to be that much bigger than their opponents. The problem is how many guys would be big enough to fight at superheavyweight. They would have the same guys as at heavyweight just with no weight limit, if they start to limit the heavyweight division with weight.
To people who bring up the height argument: what about guys like Paul Williams, who fought at welter while being 6′ 1″ and some of his opponents were only 5′ 7″? Or Iron Mike, at 5′ 11″ at max, who beat many of his taller opponents senseless?
The best heavyweights in the world will not always be giants. 220-230lbs is the ideal weight for a heavyweight.
If theres gonna be a 7lbs weight class differential between SMW and LHW, I dont see why there couldnt be a seperate weight for people 235 and over.
