I don't give Floyd credit for the Marquez fight because he pulled a total ***** move.

Floyd paid off Marquez and refused the HBO scales on fight night. He was clearly the bigger man and had a distinct advantage.

If Floyd had come in on weight would it have changed the result? I very much doubt it, Floyd has superior skills but, like I say, Floyd still pulled a ***** move and therefore he wont be getting any credit from me for the victory (I'm sure he'll be devastated).

He will, however, get full credit if he fights Canelo and wins a clear victory.

What the guy below said,Ortiz came in 165lbs vs floyd.& your idol floydie doesn't like being weighed after fights like Chavez jr ect.Don't be a hypocrite floyd agreed with Marquez at a catch weight 144lb he proposed already making him inflate 9lbs later broke his own rule & came in 2lbs over on weigh in.That atop of the weight he added back on & didn't want to disclose on fight night.Floyd was easily 151lb+ vs a 37 yr inflated lightweight & Sergio was 168lb on fight night the most he's ever weight going against giant 185lb Chavez huge difference.Floyd was the bigger man in his & sergio the smaller one don't hate.

Would have been on par with Pacs win over DLH, there was no need for Marquez and Floyd to fight Tbh Not at all.
But to try and claim credit on something you are expected to do which is beat the smaller fighter come on now...

Probably because he was coming up from Lightweight to fight Floyd.

For the first time in a long time, FLoyd looked like the bigger fighter against his opposition, in fact the size difference was quite evident from the moment they stepped in the ring that night.

To Floyd's defense, this was his "tuneup fight" after 2 years removed from the boxing game. Not like he was taking on Stevie Forbes (like Delahoya did in a tuneup,) instead he went after one of the P4P kingpins.

i would've enjoyed that one sided domination FLoyd gave him if Marquez was a bit more comfortable at the higher weights (I believe that was his first fight at 147,) like he seemingly is now.

That being said, if they met again, it would end the same way. They both don't like to initiate offense, so FLoyd would wait him out and force Marquez to be the more offensively aggressive fighter of the 2.

Well considering Floyd walks around when hes NOT training at 160 and when he does weigh in on fightnight, he ALWAYS around 150,and he started out at 126.

What weight do you think he weighed against Marquez????

He would get all the credit in the world. Even if it was Mayweather the 135lber moving up to Juan at 147 and losing, Juan would get all the credit as if moving up means nothing. You would see comments like "It's not Juan's problem Mayweather wanted to act macho and move up". like women, the majority of fans give credit to fighters based on their personal emotions.

Don't know, but I won't just take Floyd's word for it, esp after claiming 147 for Cotto. Why not just step on the hbo scale?

    ---

It's not in his realm of Corrales, Genaro, Castillo X2, Cotto, and Hatton; but it is the top of the very next tier.

It depends. Technically, it counts, but simply Floyd just doesn't get the full cred.

I'm as big a fan of Sergio as the next guy, but people need to stop being hypocrites...if you feel it was so awful for Juan to go up two divisions to fight Mayweather and you give mayweather no credit, why do you then want Floyd to go up two divisions to fight at 160? :conf

Floyd didn't call out Juan, he didn't hound him for a fightor chase the smaller man, Juan was a P4P fighter coming off a win over Pac and called out called out Floyd who was coming off a TWO YEAR layoff

Fight night there was something like 4 or 5 lbs between them

It is never good when a fighter doesn't make the weight and this was no different, but let's try to operate with some sense here

it's totally different. Floyd is a 2x SWW champ, currently ranked #1 everywhere. He wouldnt even have to move up, Sergio is willing to move down. It's basically, is Floyd willing to defend his 5th divisional belt against the best challengers, or at least guys that are not blown up welters like him
